"What do you want?"

Darla laughed. If it had been anyone else, maybe she would speak of her dreams like a villain in a movie dissecting their grand plan, but this was just a boy she had saved hours ago.

His legs leaned inwards, muddled in a pool of blood. She remembered how he had been sandwiched between branches, gasping for air.

Want? She would be crucified if anyone found out she tried to gain from this situation.

"Sleep," she muttered, shaking her head.

"You-" he paused, "You'll regret this opportunity later. Tell me what you wa-"

She placed her finger over his mouth, dismissively shaking her head. "Yes. Yes."

"I'm... being serious," he insisted.

"Thank you. You can just say 'thank you,'" she sighed.

And with that, they fell silent.
