My Missing Piece

Chapter 2: A Sense Of Hope

It had been about a month since the show where my sisters made their debut which was also the same show where I first saw Camryn since our days in college and she had been avoiding me whenever I would see her either at a show or in public and my sisters have told me that she feels guilty still even after I specifically said to her that I never blamed her for Sloane's death.

I was currently in my 2014 Charger and I was on a drive through town as I wanted to grab some things for my house.

I parked my charger and headed inside the supermarket after getting a cart and I went inside to get everything I needed first and then i decided to get myself somethings that I'd wanted to get and the first of those things was a bottle of whiskey and so I went to the alcohol and spirits section and looked up and down the aisle until I found the bottle of whiskey that I usually get and then I put that in the shopping cart.

While I was looking for other things to get, I was looking around when I saw one of Alyssa and Samara's friends called Ashley coming up the aisle is was in and she waved at me and said hi when I walked up to her.

Ashley: hi Dan.

Daniel: hey Ash, how've you been ?

Ashley: I'm good thanks, you ?

Daniel: not bad honestly, just getting some crap for the house.

Ashley: (chuckles) same here.

We talked for a moment and then the topic of Camryn came up when Ashley asked about her.

Ashley: hey... umm, you remember when we first met you at that show about a month ago ?

Daniel: yeah ?

Ashley: well I've been meaning to ask you about when you were talking to Camryn, she seemed really nervous about being around you and I just wanted to know, is there history between you two ?

Daniel: we've never been in a relationship together but we went to the same college and let's just say that things happened and she needlessly blames herself even though she had nothing to do with it.

Ashley: oh damn, were you involved at all ?

Daniel: in a way yeah, someone very dear to me passed and for whatever reason, she thinks that I hate her for it even though I told her I don't.

Ashley: oh I'm sorry to hear that.

Daniel: ah don't be but thanks, just could you please maybe keep an eye on her and maybe let my sisters know so they can tell me how she is ?

Ashley: yeah sure.

Daniel: thanks.

Ashley: no problem, now I'm gonna go and finish up here so I'll see you around yeah ?

Daniel: yeah, see you around Ash.

I left the aisle and got a few more things and headed to checkout and after paying for my groceries, I put everything in my car and out the cart back and drove home and put everything away.

And as I was chilling at my place, I got a phone call from Maya who was at the bar and she sounded worried about something.

Daniel: hello ?

Maya: hey Dan, could you come in early please ? There's some here that says she needs to talk to you, she's in tears and says she knows you or something.

Daniel: what does she look like ?

Maya: well she has black hair, blue eyes and a bunch of tattoos.

Something's telling me that this is Camryn and so I tell Maya that I'll be there and to keep an eye on her.

I arrive at the bar and I quickly go inside and I see Maya stood with Camryn who had been crying and when she saw me, she got up from the chair she was sat on and she ran right over to me and she hugged me tightly and she broke down in tears as I wrap my arms around her and lightly hold her hand with one hand as she leans her head on my chest.
