It was a nice duet from some movie, but I can't really remember which one. I could only look at Sasuke's pretty eyes, as he shyly muttered the lyrics off-key and off-time.
Sakura, Kiba and Itachi were looking at us weird, smirking like we sucked or something, and it was a bit awkward, but I was still having fun. I know can mess up when I sing too, so I tried to be confident, trying to make Sasuke feel better.
He looked so cute, though. After a bit of my goofing around dancing, he started loosening up. His voice rose in volume, and he lifted his head up instead of trying to hide behind his bangs.
I felt his hand cover mine as I was holding onto the mike, too, and it gave me goosebumps. He was smiling openly now, even if he only looked at me. It felt nice to be the main focus of his attention, aside from him looking at his phone for the lyrics occasionally.
It was... perfect. At least... it felt that way. Even if neither of us was that good at singing... just being there, together, glancing at each other and doing stuff together...
I was excited and nervous and happy all at the same time. Sasuke's hand was warm. It made me feel drunk in the moment, the feelings... the sounds... and his eyes. His beautiful, gentle eyes.
"Wooo! Encore!" and "Not bad at all!" Sakura and Kiba were complimenting us, and it sounded more genuine than usual, even if Sakura half chuckled at some point. Itachi only smiled, while looking at us with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"C'mon, Itachi! You promised!" I said, motioning for him to get over here with me and Sasuke. Who agreed: "Yeah. If I have to be humiliated so does my big bro, it's only fair." Even though he was clearly enjoying himself.
"Alright, alright, but I get to choose the song." He said, leaning over to Sakura to tell her what to play before rising from his chair and joining us.
"You better not have chosen a long one, or I'm gonna beat you."
"Assuming you can."In any other situation it would've been concerning, but right now, as they were smiling at each other, and Itachi messing up Sasuke's hair, gently, made me feel at ease, as the song began playing.
My face lit up, he chose one of my favorite songs! I knew this one by heart, and sang with my entire soul, even if Sakura and Kiba started giggling at my exaggerated motions and dancing.
"Break it down, Freddie Mercury!" Sakura cheered at some point, making Sasuke cut himself off from the singing just to laugh at her terrible joke. Itachi only wavered slightly, but the way the corners of his mouth lifted were obvious to anyone with eyes. Kiba made a terrible job trying to hold his cackles in. His face was red.
After that we mixed up a bit more for the next five songs. We were all beat by then.
"Holy shit, only one a.m.? I'm usually still pumped at this time!" Kiba commented, before letting out a huge yawn, much like a dog's.
"Sure, sure, party boy. Age gets to us all."
"We're sixteen to seventeen."
"Just shut up, Kibbles, my head hurts..."His yawning was contagious, though, and I had to cover my mouth.
"Can we at least have cake before going to sleep?" I suggested, even though my voice was raspy from all the singing, and I was seriously read to crash on my bed.
"Hm, yeah, let's do that. Don't want all my effort to have been for nothing!" Sakura agreed, still rubbing her temples, softly.
"I thought I told you that wasn't necessary in the first place... I have some painkillers in that cupboard over there, if that'll help." Itachi scolded, rubbing her shoulder reassuringly.
