Terra has been relatively safe until 2030. Though some countries had their own problems, the planet was habitable. Unfortunately, in the year 2030, everything changed. My career had only started, but a large amount of countries went to war with eachother. Life became terrible on the planet. Fortunately due to the advanced technology that helped the countries destroy eachother, common folk like me and my friends were able to utilise it to escape for a better chance at life. Multiple habitable planets were discovered in the Lacta Galactic System alone, so it was a great idea to leave the planet before the war became worse.
Thus, using the wealth I've gained from being a career, we bought a spaceship. Together with Talia, Tyrkys, Vic, Weraya and Dodogy we were preparing to depart from the planet.
I didn't have to take many things with me. I took plants that were easy to replant and my trusty guandao, and a set of clothing.
On December first, we were ready.
"The spaceship's AI should be able to pilot it. Let's aim for the closest habitable planet", I said.
In the background, we heard bombs and gun sounds.
"We'll have to be quick, it's already getting violent now", Weraya said.
We boarded the spaceship and got ready for departing our home planet.
"I hope we won't die", Talia said.
"We won't", Vic said.
I clicked a few buttons using a tutorial that was written on the spaceship.
"Starting engines... changing wing position... launching in three minutes", the spaceship's AI beeped.
"Let's say goodbye to the planet that has given a home to all of us", I said. "May this journey lead us forward to a better destiny".
"Bye earth", everyone said.
After a bit of small talk and some emotional outbursts, the spaceship was ready to depart.
"We are departing now", I said.
The spaceship launched itself up into the atmosphere, its engines rattling.
I looked outside, watching over the polluted world I grew up in. Ambivalent, I shut my eyes and waited.
After around an hour, we were in space.
"Wow! This is space? This looks awesome!", Talia said.
'How much oxygen do we have?", Dodogy asked.
"Enough for now", I answered.
However, the spaceship was heading to a direction where there were no planets or moons at all.
"Are we really going the right way?", Tyrkys asked.
When that question was asked, the entire spaceship started shaking immensely. There were bright flashes of light and we were blinded.
When the shaking stopped and the spaceship stopped shaking, we all gazed outside. A massive cyan nebula was visible.
"What is this... this isn't in the milky way", Vic said.
"Could it be that we accidentally traveled through a space wormhole?", I asked.
Not very soon after, our spaceship was caught in several magnetic fields, severely altering the spaceship's course. It started shaking and eventually orbited a large planet that was covered with a lot of water. It came closer to the planet, until eventually it crashed, and we were all forced to leave the spaceship before crashing to death. This is where the Sharjasanian chronicles truly began.
