SAVANNA''S P.O.V.
"SO THAT'S ALL FOR TODAY." She stood tall after gathering her things. "Class dismissed!"
A collective sigh of relief followed as Mrs. Gamatero exited the room.
"Lower your voice," Zyrex whispered, glancing around cautiously. "She's in the faculty room. You don't want her to hear you."
Janine rolled her eyes, but he just chuckled and gave her a quick peck on the forehead. "I'll wait for you outside."
"Tiisin mo na, sis," Kyla said, patting Janine on the shoulder.
I chuckled while fixing my things and glanced at my phone, confirming it was almost 6 PM.
"Hay, buti pa si Sav," Janine said with a pout, pointing at me.
"Of course! Ganda ng kaibigan natin, eh," Kyla teased, dramatically posing with her hand under her chin. "Pero alam mo naman 'yan, she doesn't care."
"Oo nga pala," Janine laughed, flipping her hair over her shoulder.
I just shook my head at their antics and stood up. They followed me outside, and I heard Janine's exaggerated sigh as she realized no one was waiting.
"Sayang! Kyla and I exchanged glances, both of us shrugging in response.
"Looks like those days are over," I said, smiling.
Before heading home, I reminded Kyla and Janine about our research paper deadline, as Mrs. Gamatero had stressed.
"Ate, ayoko po!" she whined, sitting on the floor.
I crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow. "Athalia?"
"Tapos na akong mag-toothbrush kahapon!" she complained, stomping her little feet.
"Ang ibig mong sabihin..." I knelt down to her level, squinting my eyes.
"Opo!" She nodded with a serious expression, scratching her nose.
"Hmm..." I pretended to think, tapping my chin.
Her eyes widened. Before I could say more, she jumped up and rushed to the bathroom.
"Toothbrush na po ako!"
I laughed as I began picking up her scattered toys.
Not long after, Auntie Jane came home. She removed her black coat, and I took her Gucci bag, placing it on the coffee table.
"Auntie," I started, offering a traditional "mano," but she quickly leaned in for a kiss on the cheek instead. I couldn't help but laugh. "Good evening po."
After greeting each other, I was about to head to the kitchen to prepare something for her, but she stopped me with a smile.
"Ang batang'to, oo."
