"Hello? Earth to-" Little My waved her hand in front of your face.
"Hm? What?" You snapped out of your thoughts to Little My all up in your face.
"Leave the poor person alone. They've had a long day." Snufkin dragged Little My away from you by her collar, as she was practically straddling you.
"Thank you." A giggle escaped you. Snufkin smiled your way and nodded.

A sigh left your lips as you put your cup to them.
"Are you alright, dear?" Moominmamma's thick, sweet voice sounded.
"No, just a long day, just like he said." You smiled and downed the sweet aromatic tea.
"I invite you to stay the night and relax. In no way am I letting you go out in this horrible storm!" The sweet moomin approached you with a teapot. You let her refill your cup. "You as well, Snufkin." Your gaze drifted to the mumrik, who was already sneakily putting on his rucksack.
"I'll be fine Moominmamma." He frowned and crossed his arms.
"Sit back down," she said strictly. He sighed and sat back down. You couldn't help but snicker as Snufkin softly glared at you.

After some lovely chatter, everyone split up and headed to their own respectful rooms for a deep and lovely slumber. Moominmamma guided you to a guest room. It was quite small, but very cozy. You simply slammed your rucksack to the floor, shrugged off your clothes and buried yourself in the soft, patchwork comforter, not having the energy to actually do everything neatly. If you had known that Moominmamma would come later with a tray of a glass of milk, bread and a piece of caramel, you would've put everything away neatly.

You indulged a little, and slumber took you as soon as your head hit the fluffed pillow.

...

You awoke just as the sun was coming out of hiding under the horizon. The earliest birds were just beginning to sing, looking for someone who could sing a spring duet with them.

The blanket you threw over your head to silence them did nothing, as well as your attempts to slip into that wonderful slumber. You decided to get up.

The Moominhouse had ladders coming from every window, so you could slip out to set up your tent and wander around without waking anyone. Just as you were climbing down from the guest room window, you saw Snufkin climbing out of Moomin's.

You two held eye contact for a moment before you burst into a light giggle. Snufkin only smiled. "Good morning."

You jumped down next to him and joined him as walked to his campsite. "Good morning. What were you doing in Moomin's room?"
"It's my room as well. I have a bed there. Although I mostly sleep outside."
"Ohhh."

The two of you walked in a comfortable silence. Snufkin was just that guy you could be comfortable sitting in silence with.

The dew on the grass shimmered in the early dawn. The sun's rays painted everything and everyone in a beautiful light yellow.
"The sunrise is beautiful, isn't it?" The man beside you spoke and interrupted your thoughts.
"Hm? Ah, yes, it is." You smile.
"And here we are, my humble abode." Snufkin gestures to the campsite after you two cross the bridge.

The campsite wasn't too big. There was a single tree in the middle, slightly caving in around where Snufkin probably tied his rope to hold his tent. There were patches of ground that weren't covered up by grass. One for Snufkin's tent connecting to the fireplace with a path.

A warm feeling swelled up in your chest. Something about time passing and repetition leaving a mark really hits you in the gut. You let out a happy, shaky sigh and start unpacking.

"Tents set, stuff unpacked, now... I'm hungry." Though your stomach told that to Snufkin way earlier.
"The Moomins will wake up in a few hours if you want Moominmamma's breakfast." The nomad took out his fishing rod and sat down on the little bridge.
"I can't wait a few hours!" You began to rummage through your rucksack, and relief flooded your body as you grasped a metal can with your fingers. "Aha! We can eat soup!"
"We?" Snufkin stopped trying to impale a poor squirming worm on the fishing hook.
"Yeah, you shared your food with me, and I should do the same! Hey, since we live close, we could share food and have a schedule of who cooks!" You rambled as you took out your pot. "Is there a well or a spring somewhere around here?" You stopped to look at him. Snufkin pointed to a small dip in the ground from where a spring flowed into the river a few meters away from you. "Thank you!"
