*Your POV*
It's been a full day and there's still no word about anything. You're standing in the mirror in Wanda's bathroom which you're now sharing with her, one, because your bedroom still has no window, but more importantly, because Tony insisted it was safer for you to be with someone else at night.
You gaze into the mirror at yourself, inspecting all of the cuts on your body, and the bruises on your neck. It reminded you of when you were with Chase.
When you had to inspect yourself in the mirror every day before you went out to make sure there weren't any injuries showing with the outfit you chose. It also meant you had to wear long clothing occasionally, when he'd carelessly leave bruises in obvious places like your arms or wrists.
Wait....Chase.
You rush out of Wanda's bedroom and down the stairs to the meeting room where you knew the others would all be. As you step into the room, you notice that everyone looks almost as tired as you, knowing that no one has slept since everything happened.
"It was Chase." You tell them, cutting them off from the conversation they were in the middle of.
"What?" Clint, Steve, and Nat ask in unison.
"Last night. It had to have been Chase." You respond, stepping further into the room and taking a seat at the big table.
"No, no, it wasn't his voice saying the commands over the speakers." Tony replies, running a hand through his hair.
"It wasn't his voice but didn't he have a meeting late last night with Hydra? It was probably about their plan to turn Bucky back into the Winter Soldier." You explain and the others look at each other with confused looks.
"Maybe. But we were listening in on the meeting, they didn't say anything about that." Sam replies, leaning forward in his chair to rest his elbows on the table.
"Wait...what about when they went inside that abandoned concrete building and the bug's microphone cut out..." Steve says, thinking out loud. "It took us a few minutes to get it back up and working again."
"You really think this was Chase?" Thor asks, looking concerned.
"I do. There's no way that man could go on with his life knowing that Bucky and I were still alive without trying to get revenge." You tell him and he nods, thinking to himself.
There's a few seconds of silence while everyone mulls over the information you shared, and figures out what to do next.
"We need to go back snd search that abandoned building they met in." Sam finally speaks up and everyone agrees, standing up and leaving the room to prepare.
"I'll stay here and continue to try and decode that voice." Vision says and Bruce decides he'll stay and help him too.
"I'm going with you." You say, standing up and heading towards the door.
"No. No way." Tony says, sitting you back down in your chair. Ah, there's the protective older brother moment you were waiting for.
"What?! But I'm apart of the team now! I can handle myself." You exclaim back and Tony shakes his head.
"You're too close to this. You said Chase would want revenge on you and Bucky. There's no telling what might happen. Plus, you're hurt."
"But, Tony, I-" You start but he cuts you off again.
"You're not changing my mind. I almost lost you once. We're not doing that shit again." He tells you sternly, before heading out of the room.
You know he's serious and you should listen to him, but something in your gut is telling you that you need to go with them. For Bucky.
