Holding my hand, Mayank carefully lead me through the crowd towards the parking lot. I wondered where he was taking me but I wasn't worried. I was sure it was going to be something fun.
"Wow, your friends sure are venturous," Mayank said spotting my friends at the ticket counter for the Disco ride.
"Yes, they are." I smiled, looking at them.
Turned a corner, we walked into a quiet alley. For some reason, shivers ran down my spine as we followed the path through the forest.
"We're going to the haunted house," I smiled, feeling excited. Mayank just smiled back in reply.
In the old days, there used to be a warehouse in the forest. It belonged to a wealthy businessman who used it to store his goods and materials. A few years ago, the businessman sold his business and settled down in USA with his wife and two sons. The man who purchased the warehouse decided to turn it into a cafe/ library which he did and it is one the best cafes of our town. Everyone, including me, go there to spend time drinking coffee and reading books, surrounded by nature.Seeing the crowd in the town around the founder's day carnival, the owner of the cafe got a genius idea to turn his cafe into a haunted house during this time of the year. I have been going to this haunted house for the last three years and trust me I have never been disappointed.
As we approached the haunted house, my shoulders sunk in disappointment. The queue outside the ticket counter was twice as long as the queue outside the fortune teller's tent.
I checked my smart watch before saying, "It's already 8:30 pm. I have to reach home by 10. Nevermind,"
"No, I do mind." Mayank said while grabbing me by my hand as I began to turn back. "Watch me,"
Narrowing my eyes, I watched as he walked over to a flower pot nearby and looked around as if we were on a secret mission or something. My eyes went wide in surprise as I watched him retrieve two tickets for the haunted house from under the pot. Taking the tickets out of the polythene bag, he showed them to me proudly before walking up to me.
"How? And when?" I said raising my eyebrows in confusion.
"My friends put them there. They're already inside so they just texted me about it," he explained.
"Wait, your friends are inside?" I said, nervousness visible on my face.
"Yes." he smiled.
"Okay. How many friends do you have?" I asked, scrunching my nose.
Grabbing me gentlly by my shoulders, Mayank urged me to look into his eyes. "Don't worry. You'll love them, I promise."

After waiting for at least twenty minutes, the guard at the entrance of the haunted house finally let us in. Since I have been here before I knew the rules already but Mayank didn't so I explained to him that every group or individual would be allowed to enter seven minutes after the ones who have gone before them.
