"Only the top 44 will advance to the next round. But don't be too let down if you didn't make the cut! We prepared other opportunities for you to shine." Midnight said, licking her lips.
"Now the real fun is about to begin. The chance to fully move yourselves into the limelight! Give it your best!" The screen started spinning again. I hate this.
"Will your wildest fantasies come to life? What could it be? The waiting is torture." Please stop.
"Prepare yourselves... for this!" The screen finally stopped spinning. Phew.
"Cavalry battle? I'm terrible at those." Denki said.
"Huh? It's not an individual event. I wonder how they'll split us up." Tsu said.
"Allow me to explain. The participants will form teams of two-to-four people as they see fit." The screen changed to an image of Thirteen and Present Mic holding up All Might. I- ok.
"In theory, it's basically the same as a regular playground game. But there is one difference. Each player has been assigned a point value based on the results from the obstacle course." Midnight explained.
"Maybe you should shut up and let me explain things to you!" Midnight lashed out. Um, calm down, Auntie M.
I kinda zoned out after that. She just kept on yapping. I stretched, waiting for the game to start.
"First years! These are the rules you will abide by. The game itself will last fifteen minutes. Individual points values will be added together to reach your team total. Everyone will know how much you're worth thanks to your headbands." Midnight said, snapping me back to reality.
"Swipe as many headbands as you can to raise your team's score. Stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up. So the more you steal, the harder it'll be to manage them. And another thing. Even if your headbands gets stolen or your team falls down, you can keep on playing until times up." Midnight explained.
"This is going to be rough. You may use your quirks as much as you like. But there are still rules! Make a team fall on purpose... and I'll slap you with a red card. You'll be disqualified!" She continued.
"Now, you've got fifteen minutes to build your teams. I recommend you get started." Midnight announced.
"Aizawa." Todoroki turned to me. I turned my head to face him.
"Hm?"
"I helped you. Now you help me." He said. I giggled.
"Hell yeah. A deal is a deal. Let's do this, friend." I rested my hand on his shoulder. He nodded.
"I think we should get Denki on our team." He said bluntly.
"Oh! Then we should get Yayarozu as well! She can cancel out his quirk and protect us!" I added. He nodded.
"Yaomomo!" I called out, walking over to her.
"Uh, yes?" She turned her attention to me.
"Join our team!" I smiled. He nodded. It was pretty easy to get Denki to join after that. He made his way over by himself.
"I think Todoroki should be the rider." I said. We were trying to make a plan.
"Shouldn't you be the rider?" Denki asked. I shook my head no.
"I'd be better use on the ground. I know I'm light, but I can run fast. Plus, if Todoroki was the rider, he would be able to have more access to use his quirk. I'll be in front, navigating with my quirk. You guys will be in the back." I explained. They nodded along.
After a while, the timer finally went off.
"Oh, goody. It's time to get this party started." Midnight started stretching.
