y/n "I'm good."
Y/N nervously shifted her weight from one foot to the other as she sat on the edge of her bed, gripping her phone tightly. She bit her lip, finally typing, “Hey, I have something to say to you,” before quickly sending it off. Her heart raced as she watched the typing bubble appear.
Jk “Yes, please say.”
Her palms grew sweaty. She swallowed hard, typing slowly, “I love you. Will you be my valentine?” She hesitated, then quickly added, “You don’t have to give me an answer right now. You can think it over, and you don’t have to accept if you don’t feel the same.”
Her thumb hovered over the send button, and with a sharp breath, she tapped it, immediately pulling her knees to her chest, hugging them tightly. The seconds felt like hours as she waited, her mind racing with every possibility.
The phone buzzed. Her heart skipped a beat.
Y/N stared at her phone in disbelief as Jk’s message flashed on her screen, "Oohhhhh yesssssssssss." Her heart pounded, and her eyes widened as she read the next line, "I love you, and thank you for letting me know, or I would’ve never understood."
Her hands trembled as she typed, "Are you sure??"
Jk’s reply came almost immediately, "Yes, I love you."
Her mind went blank for a moment, overwhelmed by the sudden rush of emotions. She blinked rapidly, trying to gather her thoughts before typing, "I will text you in a while, bye."
Jk, concerned, quickly replied, "You okay??"
Y/N took a deep breath, steadying herself, and typed, "Hmm."
"Ok, bye," Jk responded.
As soon as the conversation ended, Y/N placed her phone beside her, pressing her palms against her cheeks. She felt the warmth spread across her face, her heart melting from his words. She could hardly believe it — Jk had said yes!
Y/N’s heart fluttered as she squealed internally, her mind racing with excitement. *Aww, I am so happy. Yeahhhhhh!* she thought, feeling like she could burst with joy.
After calming down a little, she picked up her phone again and texted Jk, "Hey."
He replied almost immediately, "Hi, u ok??"
Y/N, still feeling a bit flustered, quickly thought of an excuse. "Yes, my mother called me," she typed, hoping it sounded natural.
*Why did I even lie?* she wondered to herself.
"That's ok," Jk responded.
They continued chatting for a while, the conversation flowing easily, making her feel more comfortable.
But eventually, Jk texted, "I have got to go, bye, tc."
Y/N smiled softly at her phone, feeling warm inside. "Bye," she replied before setting her phone down, her mind still lingering on everything that had just happened.
*I can't believe it,* Y/N thought to herself, still buzzing with excitement. Without hesitation, she texted Nabi, "Hey, he accepted my proposal."
Nabi responded quickly, "Oo, congrats!"
"Thnx," Y/N typed back, still in disbelief.
Nabi, always cheeky, replied, "My treat??"
"Aww, tomorrow." Y/N said assuring her.
"I will come prepared with the list," Nabi teased.
Y/N laughed softly as she replied, "Sure."
Just then, her mother entered the room, carrying a glass of milk. She had noticed that Y/N had skipped lunch earlier and hadn’t eaten anything else since. Mrs. Lee saw her daughter smiling at her phone, so engrossed in her conversation that she didn’t even look up.
"Y/N, drink the milk," her mother called out, but Y/N, distracted, only nodded absentmindedly, eyes still glued to her screen.
Growing frustrated, Mrs. Lee grabbed Y/N's phone, handing her the glass of milk in the process. Y/N's heart leapt as nerves kicked in.
Her mother glanced at the phone screen and, seeing Nabi’s name, relaxed slightly. But just as she was about to hand the phone back, her eyes landed on a message with heart emojis and the word 'proposal.'
Mrs. Lee's expression grew tense as she scrolled through the conversation. "What is this?? Who is the guy you're talking about? Where did you meet him?" she demanded, her voice full of concern.
Y/N froze, her mind racing for an explanation. Then, a plan formed in her head. "Mom, you doubt me?? It’s not true; it was just a prank," Y/N said quickly. "I was bored, so I thought of a joke. Honestly, I miss Incheon."
Her mother’s tense face softened, and she pulled Y/N into a hug. "I believe you," Mrs. Lee said gently. "But I want you to remove all your social apps. This is a crucial time for you to grow, and you shouldn't let anything distract you."
Y/N nodded obediently. "Okay, Mumma." She then removed all her social apps under her mother’s watchful eye.
Her mother smiled, patting Y/N’s shoulder and making sure she drank the milk. "I’ll plan a trip to Incheon this weekend," Mrs. Lee added. "Be ready."
