Tommy didn't know where he was, trapped within unfamiliar obsidian walls."Hello there, Thomas"
That was interesting to the young boy, it had been quite rare for him to hear anything other than the complaints of social workers.
"W-Who are you? Where am I!" Tommy yelled at the voice he couldn't see, receiving no answer.
The child tried to stand, but it only resulted in a scream of pain. As Tommy fell to the floor, he felt all the emotions that he had gained in the orphanage.
Hopelessness.
Fear.
Insecurity.
"Defeat?" The voice said mockingly, knowing he was unable to retaliate.
"No, actually."
Tommy whispered, before raising his voice
"I feel no defeat. But I do feel foolish... foolish for me to ever think the world would be nothing but kind."
The boy heard footsteps from a dark corner of the room, but payed them no mind, as he continued to speak.
"It was nothing but a childish dream, to ever think the world would be there to help you when you fall."
The footsteps grew louder.
"Because that's not what the world does. The world will break you to your limit, simply to test how strong you are, before throwing you away as if your nothing."
"Well, kid. Todays your lucky day!" Said the voice excitedly, now standing over Tommy.
"I was going to kill you... but!"
Tommy looked up slightly, enough to see the persons feet standing in-front of him and a arm reaching out.
"I think you should join me, be part of my team! I can't say you have the spirit...
Because the real reason I want you to join is that you have no spirit left!"
Don't do it, whispered the small yet logical part of Tommy's mind
There's no going back,
But of course, Tommy already knew that.
So he reached out to take the hand placed infront of him, the hand that then pulled him to his feet even though it was painful.
"Welcome to the team, names Dream! Before we get started though...
There's a couple things you have to do!"
