"Jungkook, what's going on?" Y/N asked, her voice laced with concern. "You've been distant and distracted lately. Is everything okay?"
"Everything's fine, Y/N," Jungkook replied, his eyes evading hers. "Just stressed with work and all."
But Y/N knew better. She could see the pain in his eyes, the weight of secrets unspoken.
"Jungkook, tell me the truth," she pressed, her hand on his arm. "What's going on?"
He sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "It's just...my past, Y/N. It's coming back to haunt me."
"Your past?" Y/N's curiosity was piqued. "What do you mean?"
But before Jungkook could explain, his phone rang. He hesitated, then answered. The conversation was brief, but the look on his face spoke volumes.
"What is it?" Y/N asked, her heart racing.
"It's her," Jungkook said, his voice barely above a whisper. "My ex. She's threatening to expose our past relationship, to ruin my reputation and our love story."
Y/N's eyes narrowed. "We won't let her win, Jungkook. We'll face this together."
Jungkook's eyes locked onto hers, filled with gratitude and love. "I don't deserve you, Y/N."
"You deserve all the love in the world, Jungkook," Y/N replied, her voice firm. "And I'm going to make sure you get it".
