Chapter 14 - The Good Life

Raven and Diesel enjoyed their vacation to the fullest. Traveling to different cities, eating the best food, tasting the different textures and packing on the pounds, Raven felt like she was living a dream but nope she on the other side of the world with not just any man: her protector, her lover, her man. Besides the body guards hovering over them as a extra precaution, Raven doesn't mind in fact it feels good to be protected and safe. Having Raven here with him and usually he didn't even bring any woman that he dated better yet he slept with, out on vacation like this.

Seeing Raven enjoying the finer thing in life seeing the rich culture of the island. Raven was the historic type and her delving into the history and being so involved made seeing her eyes light up. Diesel hasn't even experienced anything like this bringing out the soft side to him which is very uncommon. His bodyguards notices the change in him and they see a different side they rarely saw. The brotherhood and council took a liking to Raven from the moment they met and with her fiery, feisty, no bs taking attitude, yeah she was a tough one to crack.

Raven has always been bold, take on bs head on, fuck around find out type of person and when she met Diesel for the first time, it felt like all of that went out the window. He completely changed her way of  how a relationship should be. Raven was so afraid of being giving her heart to someone because what she's been thru and the countless times she's gave her all to anyone she came in contact with. But when she was with Diesel, she felt a sense of safety and security with him. Yeah she knew what he is and what he was capable of doing, but none of that matter and to be honest she really was beginning to fall in love with this man.

Love is a strong word and it meant a lot to Raven and she don't take that word slightly or for granted at all. Hopeless romantic as she is, she wants to spend the rest of her life with this man. She got this pull towards diesel that she can't escape at all. Being away from Diesel would feel like the end of the world (pun the exaggeration). Spending time with Diesel felt amazing she wanted to know everything about him. While they we enjoying their beautiful in the city, Diesel sensed something wrong and they left headed back to the beach house. Raven looked at Diesel wondering what happened and she was scared to even find out. 

Back at the beach house, seeing all of the brotherhood there plus the Council there it felt like crowded storage space with very little to breathe. Raven tried to remove herself, but Diesel pulled her close hovering over her showing that protectiveness which Raven loved that about him.
"Listen up guys. I'm sensing  Ace is here and we have to move our operations to a new location right now."
"How did he know we were here?"
"One of his henchman was spotted in the distance and I recognize that scent anywhere."
"Yeah and Roxy is probably right in the vicinity which I have no doubt."
"We should move our operations to that discreet location we planted all of those years ago."

All nodded in agreement. Raven didn't know what to think or expect but she knew she was well protected. The brotherhood and council left, all she wanted to do is curl up and lay in his arms but she knew Diesel was busy attending to other matters.
Diesel goal: Protect Raven at all cost no matter what the cost was if it's going to cost him his life but hopefully it doesn't have to come to that at all. As Raven laid in the bed, she scooped her up and laid her on his chest hearing the pulsating heartbeat holding her hand, kissing her forehead letting her know that he wouldn't let anything happen to her.

"I always wanted to ask."
"Yes my love."
"Should I ask what happened or you don't want me to find out?"
"As much I would love to, it's much too dangerous for you."
"I can handle it. I'm deep in this shit as it goes. I'm not going anywhere. You got a stubborn woman to mess with."
" Stubborn and a tough cookie. Mmmmm."
"Pretty much and front the looks of , your brothers, sister and the Council ain't going to let me go that easy."
"Yeah and thats the first time ever. The brotherhood didn't like nobody I brought them and to my surprise, the Council even disapproved to the highest extent to the point that they killed them right on the spot. But you, my love have exceeded all their expectations even to the point that they even gave us their blessings."
"Is that so?"
"Yes my love."

At this point, who couldn't love this man? I'm mean this is Diesel we talking about. The power, intensity, the sexiness, the authoritativeness, all is hers. It felt like forever that she even felt like this. Even though she wanted to lay in his arms forever, they had to leave; Raven was a target and Diesel's going to protect her at all cost; she was worth killing for even though being immortal had its perks in a big way. All headed out and headed for the disclosed location not even Roxy knew about it in all the years they were married. Diesel as smart as he is, he knew he had a couple of nest eggs he had but in different locations and this was one of them.

Heading to the location, Raven couldn't put a finger on how discreet this location: part house, part mansion and part factory but the factory it opened to it, no wonder it's a disclosed location. Getting out, Diesel grabbing all the bags heading to the room placing in the bedroom, Diesel pulled Raven to his chest hugging her tight. Raven felt his sense of being terrified, scared, and frightened all at the same time. Raven touched his cheek with her palm. Staring at them beautiful eyes, seeing such nervousness, she felt his energy all thru the way to his soul.

"Hey my love. Listen I know all of this is crazy. I'll be right here thru everything. I ain't going anywhere I'm here to kick ass if I have to."
"I know but you're in more danger than ever. It's crazy because I've never felt this way toward anybody, hell not even Roxy or any other female. The thought of losing you like I don't even want to think about it. I promise to protect you with my last breath no matter what."
"I know."

Diesel and Raven head to headquarters to the conference room. As she sits in the conference next to Diesel, Raven being prepared and cautious as she always is. Raven's going to learn as much as she can so when it comes to kick some ass especially Roxy bitch ass, there was something about her that she didn't even like and she had this gut feeling that something's about to go down. Looking around to see the brotherhood and the Council all in one room and with Raven being target, the brotherhood isn't taking any chances especially Diesel.

"As a group, we will be making sure Raven is fully protected. Raven, we will be teaching you the ways in fighting should the time come. You'll be paired with 2 of the finest warriors in our history: Lorena and Mariska."
"Raven so nice to meet you; We'll show you the tricks of the trade in regards the weapons, the way to hold it and the moves to go by. You ready?"
"Yeah let's kick some ass."

As Raven head with Lorena and Mariska to the training room, Diesel knew sooner or later that Raven transition will be coming and  Diesel believes that Raven's prepared for it. Before anything, Diesel wants Raven prepared before that can even happen. In the training room, Raven breaking out in a sweat fighting, maneuvering, weapon handling, Diesel couldn't think of any other person to spend forever with and Raven was his person; his shellan.

Raven's all bout kicking ass and with Roxy it's no exception.
