Amara Monroe
I clapped in my mind looking at the food trays that were being carried by four to five waiters. This was Rowan's duty to handle the waiters as he had suggested that he's in contact with the city's top notch caterers.
I had included Ahvi and my girl-friends in my plan along with Lyra who was supposed to act stressed when I would call her and then tell Eiran that something's serious. But clearly our King Sahab ruined the plan by overthinking useless things-that's a different thing-so we had to change the plan.
Somehow, Rowan had tagged along with Lyra and obviously I wasn't convinced by a single word he spoke about how I should take help from his caterers because I wouldn't be able to cook all the food by myself along with doing the other arrangements.
What a fool to underestimate Ms. Amara Monroe! which is why I had to prove to him that I could cook everything without his catering service, for two main reasons.
1. I wanted to cook everything for Eclair and 2. I don't trust anyone when it comes to food. But then Anastasia stepped in and I had to agree on taking help of the waiters if not the entire catering. Turns out that they just wasted their time by standing aside, because before burning the showroom I had already completed cooking everything when meanwhile Rowan was distracting Eiran from coming to meet me before time. Once the food was cooked, I told my girls to spam his inbox and the rest is history.
Tadow! Everything finally turned out pretty well.
I patted myself mentally while eating the peri peri fries. Ofcourse I had to cook Indian dishes as well, because last time I noticed how eclair was savouring those dishes specially. Glad we have same taste in food. I wonder what else we have same taste in-
"Sweetheart?" a soft voice reached my ears, bringing me out of my imagination, and I turned my gaze to look at him,
"yes Eclair?"
Woah, I like his nickname and that jealousy look when I lied about giving a nickname to Rowan, dude, that was worth watching."I can't eat quietly, without talking." A low chuckle escaped my mouth seeing him pouting and complaining like a small child.
"Then how about we ask questions to each other? This way we will get to know each other." I shrugged my shoulders giving him the offer and stuffing more fries in my mouth.
His eyes lit up as he nodded quickly before having his pasta. "I'll go first." I said thinking about the only question that's been roaming in my mind for months.
But before asking the question I interlocked our finger knowing that maybe the question would trigger him, ignoring the small shiver that erupted in my body I cleared my throat after he nodded to continue with my question.
"Why don't you ever celebrate your birthday?"
As expected, his shoulders stiffened and his smile disappeared in thin air. Subconsciously I rubbed my thumb on his forefinger, providing him a bit of comfort. After a few seconds his gaze found mine and again a small smile appeared on his lips. I wonder if it's that easy for me to make him smile?
"I.." Eclair began, "I have just been busy with..with my work always" He completed his sentence without giving an elaborate answer.
I didn't even dared to demand an explanation because somewhere I knew he has always been occupied with his work. Just like today, when he refused to meet me. Though it was supposed to be an act but...nevermind.
