In the near future when the world has met its end and most of the population is eradicated. Only the top 1 percent who are now living a really good life in utopia and are controlling the downtown where only a few people have survived. Every year there is an auction to sell boys and girls to the people living in utopia who live out their darkest fantasies on them. Johnny and Taeyong are that couple and they decide to adopt Donghyuck.

Johnny was a man of few words and even fewer smiles. His eyes, once full of warmth and mischief, had long ago turned cold and calculating. He sat in the dimly lit room, the screens flickering in front of him, displaying countless images of despair and desperation. He was the master of his domain, the auctioneer in the heart of downtown, where hope had been replaced by the chilling embrace of the cold, steel walls. The world had ended, and Johnny had made sure to secure his place among the elite.

Across from him, Taeyong, his partner in both life and business, reviewed the list of the year's most coveted commodities. Taeyong's eyes scanned over the profiles, each one detailing a story of loss and survival. His hand paused on one in particular, a young boy with a name that seemed too innocent for the fate that awaited him. Donghyuck. Taeyong felt a twinge of something, a feeling he hadn't experienced in the utopia for a very long time. It was a feeling that made him shift uncomfortably in his chair.

The room was a stark contrast to the chaos outside. Downtown was a wasteland of the forgotten, a playground for the desperate and the depraved. Yet here, in the sanctum of the 1%, it was orderly and pristine. The soft hum of the climate control system was the only sound that broke the silence, a gentle reminder of the power and control they held over the lives of those deemed less fortunate.

Johnny looked up from his screens, catching Taeyong's gaze. "You're getting soft," he said, his voice devoid of any emotion. Taeyong didn't bother to argue. They had seen this all before. Each year, the same faces would come to bid on the lives of those who had survived the apocalypse, eager to add a new member to their households. It was a twisted game of human chess, played by those who had no right to hold the pawns, let alone the lives of the players.

"We need to make sure we get him," Taeyong said, his voice low and firm. "Donghyuck."

Johnny raised an eyebrow, surprised by the sudden attachment Taeyong had formed with the unassuming boy on the screen. "You know the rules," he reminded his partner. "They don't come willingly."

Taeyong nodded, the gravity of their decision weighing heavily on his shoulders. "I know," he murmured. "But he's different. I can feel it."

The day of the auction arrived, and the tension in the room was palpable. The survivors were brought in, their eyes wide with fear and their bodies trembling with exhaustion. Donghyuck was among them, clinging to the few friends he had left. As the bidding began, Taeyong's hand shot up, claiming Donghyuck as theirs before anyone else could lay claim. The boy looked up at them with a mix of hope and terror.

But Donghyuck had other plans. As the auctioneer's gavel fell, he lunged forward, breaking free from his restraints. "No!" he screamed, fighting against the guards that sought to drag him away. "I won't leave them!"

Johnny and Taeyong exchanged a look, the reality of their decision setting in. They had to bring Donghyuck to their world, and it was clear he didn't want to come. With a sigh, Johnny stood, his tall frame casting a shadow over the struggling boy. "Take him," he ordered, his voice echoing through the hall. "We'll deal with him later."
