Cody had recently told the young bucks and everyone he works with that Triple h had approached him with opportunity to do what his father never could they all understood. The young bucks had said they want to have one last match with him so over the last month they had built up a rivalry with the Blackpool combat club , The match was set for blood and guts it would be the bcc vs the elite 5 on 5 . The teams would be the young bucks , Cody Rhodes , Kenny omega and Hangman Adam Page against Jon Moxley, Claudio Catagnoli , Bryan Danielson , Wheeler Yuta and Eddie Kingston . Eddie doesn't get along with most members off the bcc but is willing to put their differences aside for his close friend Jon Moxley and to get his revenge on the elite as they had been costing him titles and interfering in his matches for months. So the teams , time and place was set for Cody's last match in the company he helped build with some of his closest friends as this was his last match the bucks wanted to make it special so they raised the stakes by saying if they lost they would give any two members of the bcc a shot and the titles but if they won the bcc and Eddie would not be able to challenge for a title for at least a year.
So the time had come , it had been an amazing show so far with the likes of Jericho and Mjf putting on five star classics . The elite were all in Cody's office when someone walked in and said you've got ten minutes till go time , Nick then said ''come on then guys let's give them one to remember''. Kenny says '' before we go let's get a picture of you three '' they get a picture in the canteen as they pick up their water's. Before the young bucks make their entrance they say once elite always elite and hug Cody as he repeats the words back. Within the next five to ten minutes the elite , the bcc and Eddie make their entrances , everyone knows what's at stake not just because it is Cody's last AEW match but because this match will decide the next year for the bcc and Eddie. And so the match get underway with blood spilt weapons used in a bloody thrilling five star match with Cody eventually hitting Yuta with the crossroads and pinning him for the three count.
The elite leave Cody in the ring to say his goodbyes to the fans who have meant so much to him over the last couple of years Cody talks with the live fans after they go off air with it ending with the fans chanting '' thank you Cody''. He makes his way backstage were the entire looker room, are waiting for him , he says '' What is this '' Mjf replies with ''didn't think we'd let you go without a proper goodbye did you '' Cody smiles after two hours the party starts to die down and he makes a speech about how much AEW and the people have helped which he will never forget. Later Cody and Mjf are talking and Cody says '' your going to go to do good things kid and don't forget your MJ fucking F and your one of the best wrestlers this company has to offer and one day your going to be the face of this company holding the title'' . Mjf says '' thanks bro you know I would not be here without you and no matter what company's we find our selves in you'll always be my hero and best friend'' they hug and wish each other the best as the night goes on Cody says his goodbye's to the likes of Kenny, Hangman and more but there was two more he had to says to the bucks.
Cody making his way to his car after his best efforts to find the bucks , he see's them waiting for him by his car he smiles and matt says ''didn't think we'd go without saying goodbye did you ''. Cody thanks the bucks for everything Nick then goes on to say if it doesn't work out there you'll always have a home here no matter what we say on tv'' Cody laughs and says your going to use this for bte aren't they all giggle. After a long convo Nick says '' now you go and finish your story'' Cody smiles and thinks ''finish the story'' I like it before getting in his car he say's ''stay in touch'' and they reply with ''always''. They both get in their car and drive in opposite directions.
