Toni pov
It has been two weeks since I asked Cheryl out, and tonight, I was finally going to take her on another date. I planned to pick her up after my shift at the bar and take her to a drive - in movie. But things at work didn't go as smoothly as I hoped.
While I was working, a fucking big ass dude tried to pull a fast one on me and snatched my phone from my hand. And when I stopped him, he threw a punch at me cutting my lip. And I wasn't going out like a bitch, so we got into a fight. I won, but was bruised up with cut on my lip.
Still, I was fine, and I wasn't going to let that ruin my night.
After my shift, I went home to clean up and texted Cheryl that I was on my way. I made a quick stop to pick up a fresh bouquet of flowers, wanting to keep things special.
When I arrived at her apartment, I texted her that I was there and stood by the open passenger door with the flowers in hand, waiting.
I watched Cheryl walk out to of her door, and I couldn't help but take in her outfit. She looked stunning. As I handed her the flowers, she frowned.
Damn bro I should have put on some makeup to cover my face
Cheryl - Toni, what happened to you face
Concern evident in her voice
I shrugged
Toni - Just a little scuffle at work. Some guy tried to rob me, but I handle it. It's nothing to worry about
She reached out, gently touching the cut
Cheryl - Are you sure you're ok
Toni - Yeah I'm fine. Let's not let it ruin our night
She nodded. I could tell she was still worried, but she took the flowers and smiled
Cheryl - These are beautiful. Thank you, Toni
Toni - You're welcome
I then open the passenger door for her
Toni - Ready for the movie
We got into my car and headed to the drive - in. When we got there, I showed the worker our tickets, and he directed us to our spot. I didn't even know what movie we were watching because my eyes were glued to Cheryl.
After a while, she turned to me
Cheryl - You know the movie is pretty good when you actually look at it
Toni - Why would I do that when your right here
I was unable to tear my gaze away from her
Cheryl smiled and turned to face me. And I started leaning and so was she. I kissed her, and she kissed me back not missing a beat. When we pulled back I saw that she was laughing.
Toni - What is it
Cheryl - How can you rock this lipstick better then me
Toni - Oh shut up
We enjoyed the rest of our date, watching the movie and talking, the tension between us easing into something comfortable and warm.
When I was dropping Cheryl off, she leaned in and kissed me again before getting out. After her hand came up, she was trying to wipe her red lipstick off.
Cheryl - Oh my gosh, it literally does not want to come off
She was at it for minutes until I grabbed her hand
Toni - I'll wash it off when I get home
Cheryl - You sure
Toni - I'm sure
Cheryl - Ok then, see ya later, Handsome
Toni - See ya, beautiful
She smiled as she walked to her apartment door
I watched her go inside before driving home, the scent of her perfume lingering in the car. The night had turned out better than I could have hoped, and I couldn't wait to see her again.
