While I was waiting, a sophisticated and wealthy-looking gentleman entered the hallway, moving toward Rain's room. I straightened up as he approached, noticing he was accompanied by Ms. Jane.

"This is Rain's cousin, Mr. Sebastian Reyes," Ms. Jane introduced him.

"Nice to meet you," I replied politely.

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, I was about to leave when Mr. Reyes stopped me.

"Could you stay for a moment? I need to finish a discussion with Rain, and I'd like to speak with you afterwards."

I nodded, a bit puzzled, and waited as he entered Rain's room. I couldn't make out their conversation, but the tone seemed serious.

After a while, Mr. Reyes returned. "Have you found out if Rain knows anything about the... incident?" he asked, his voice measured.

"Incident?" I echoed, confused. "That's not really within my purview. My focus has been on her emotional well-being."

He raised an eyebrow. "Has she mentioned anything about the company? Or any specific details about her father's work?"

I hesitated, unsure of what he was getting at. "No, she hasn't mentioned anything like that."

He nodded, a tight smile on his face. "Thank you. Please continue your work with her."

As he walked away, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Rain's story than I realized.

I entered Rain's room, finding her standing by the window, lost in thought. The sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow on her figure. I hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to broach the subject that was now weighing heavily on my mind.

"Rain," I began cautiously, "can we talk?"

She turned to face me, her expression calm but distant. "Sure. What is it?"

I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. "I met your cousin, Mr. Reyes, just now. He was asking some questions... about the company and your father's work."

Rain's eyes flickered with something I couldn't quite read—was it fear, anger, or something else entirely? "Sebastian has always been very protective of the company," she said slowly. "But why would he ask you about it?"

"I don't know," I admitted. "But it seemed important to him. Is there something I should know, Rain? Something about your father's work or the company?"

She sighed, turning back to the window. "There's a lot you don't know, Yuan. My father's company was involved in some... questionable activities. I overheard things, things I wish I hadn't. But Sebastian is trying to keep everything under wraps."

My heart sank. "Questionable activities? Like what?"

Rain was silent for a moment, then spoke in a low voice. "My father was involved in illegal dealings—bribes, smuggling, you name it. And Sebastian was right there with him, covering it all up. When my parents were killed, I started piecing things together. That's why Sebastian wants to know if I've talked about it. He wants to make sure I stay quiet, but let's forget about it let'sgo outside"

I looked at Rain, feeling the weight of her revelation. "Rain, this is serious. If what you're saying is true, you're in danger. I'm in danger. We need to be careful."

Rain nodded, her eyes clouded with worry. "I know, but I can't keep hiding forever. I need to get out of here, even just for a little while. I need to feel normal again."

"It's dangerous for you to go outside," I warned. "Someone's associates could be watching."

"I don't care," she said, her voice firm. "I need to get out, Yuan. Will you come with me?"
