I was in a garden,playing and laughing with my mother,when suddenly my body caught fire out of nowhere. It is burning me. My body is completely shaking and I am not able to run. What is this going on? What's happening?
I saw my mother fading away.. "Maa.. please don't leave me again..maa please.",i pleaded,but till then she was gone, AGAIN.
I was not able to understand why my body is not able to move.
Then suddenly someone poured down a bucket of hot water on me. I woke up with a jolt. I looked around only to see Mr and Mrs Sharma standing there. Mrs sharam has a sly smirk on her face as if she has won something.
And then I looked at my hands,there were burnt marks on my wrist. Tears gathered in my eyes,I cannot believe my father was watching all this and he didn't stop her.
These marks are hurting me. I want to scream,but will I be able to. No. They will kill me in a snap of time. I don't want to die. I want to live. I want to love.
With a lot of courage,I asked them, "Why did you do this to me?"
"From tomorrow, my daughter's marriage rituals will be going to start,and here you are sprawled on the bed like a starfish. Who do you think you are? Look at the time,it's 10 am. My daughter didn't get breakfast today and whose mistake is this? Yours. We pay you for your hardwork not for anything else.",my father spitted with venom laced.
"Sorry,sir. From next time,this won't happen.",I said and rushed towards my bathroom and did all my business and buried myself in other works.
I saw ayushree sitting on the terrace. I have been seeing the change in her expressions when Kabir told her about the marriage proposal. The glow she had,is lost. Her face looked pale. She is smiling but that smile isn't reaching her eyes.
"Ayushree",I called her out softly. "Are you okay?" "Yes"
"Why are you so upset? Are you not happy with this marriage thing?" And as soon as I spoke about marriage thing. She pushed me due to which I fell.
"I know what you are trying to do amiara. Don't do this sympathy thing okay. I know how selfish you are." And with this she walked away.
"What wrong have I done to everyone that they are so rude towards me.",I cried.
Next day:
Today is engagement Ceremony. And as usual,Mrs Sharma is giving me tons of work. But they all are my family after all I can do this much for them. I always considered ayushree as my younger sister. But they didn't,well nevermind.
I was busy telling the people about decoration and themes. I lost count of time.
I saw time and it was 7. Omg,if I got late in the function Mrs Sharma will definitely scold me or worst won't allow me to attend the functions.
