It was late Saturday Evening. I was slouched in the engraved spot on my windowsill, staring out into the gloomy street, impatiently waiting for time to pass by. I wasn't going to lie, I was nervous. More than nervous. I was petrified. In a couple of hours I was meant to be meeting Tom for the first time. He said to meet him near town so we could walk to the field. I tried to relax in my room for the final few hours before going out, but it didn't really go very well. It was 8:00pm, so I left my house and began to stroll down my ominous street. I was wearing thick and dirty white boots, a stretched grey skirt and my favourite black top.
The air was much cooler tonight, instead of the usual blazing heat. It wasn't long until I had entered the perimeter of town, and parked myself outside of Subway. I stood there, scanning the area for any sign of Tom - but simply, there was none.
"Hey Georgia" a soothing voice came from behind me
I jumped and turned around to see Tom stood there behind me, in tight blue jeans, converse, a light blue shirt and an elongated grey coat. He had a bouquet of vibrant roses in between his hands, that he pushed out towards me.
"Are those for me?" I blushed
"Well who else would they be for?" He smiled
"No! I feel really bad accepting these, I'm not good at receiving gifts" I stuttered
"Honestly it's fine, just take them" he ordered
I gathered myself together, smiled kindly and removed the bright and blooming flowers from his hands. We left town and began to walk our way to the field, not much was said as I was still stunned by his well-thought out gift. About 20 minutes passed until we had reached the crippled oak fence that surrounded the field. Tom hurdled himself over like it was nothing, and I scrambled after him. We crossed through the familiar bed of vicious nettles, and reclined against a colossal pine tree.
The small talk began, with the usual 'how are you?' and the 'done anything nice recently?'. Tom stood up, and stretched his hand out towards me; I grabbed onto his warm and gentle hand, and he pulled me up. I stumbled into him, and giggled. We stood talking for a while, and I realised that I was gradually getting closer and closer towards him; it got to the point that I was inches away from him.
"Georgia, you look gorgeous" he grinned
"Th.. Th... Thank you" I stumbled for words
He bit lightly onto his bottom lip, and stared at mine. Our noses were touching at this point, and we were staring into each other's eyes, not breaking the gaze.
"Georgia. I love you" he whispered
I had given in trying to fight it, and pushed my lips against his, it started off slow and turned into a long and passionate kiss. In one hand his easeful fingers threaded through my brunette hair, and the other firmly rested around my waist. Our tongue's intertwined with one another, and my heart was pounding furiously against my chest.
I finally broke off from this pleasurable and everlasting kiss, and he slowly moved his hand from my hair, down onto my face and caressed my cheek.
Just feeling his body against mine was the most satisfying yet intense thing I've ever experienced. Complex emotions consumed my head, and I still had no idea how I felt about this. I pushed myself away from him quickly.
"I... I've got to go. I'm sorry" I gasped
I turned around, and hastily walked across the field, and crossed the fierce bed of nettles once more. I leaped over the crippled fence and began to run, after the fence was no longer in sight i sat down, being protected behind a towering tree that slouched over me.
I couldn't breathe, my heart felt like it was smashing against my fragile ribcage. I waited for a few minutes, until I had settled down. I carefully rested my head against the cracked and tampered bark on the chilling tree. I hadn't even thought; do I even love him back?
