I gathered with Luca, Beatrice, Matteo and Primo in the study. The room, with its rich scent of leather and old books, always felt like a sanctuary, but tonight it carried the weight of our recent mission. The large oak table in the center was covered with documents, maps, and photographs, remnants of our infiltration into the Silver Serpent.

Standing at the head of the table, I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the discussion. "Alright, let's go over what we've gathered," I began, my voice steady but tinged with tension. "Luca, what did we find out about the Silver Serpent's operations?"

Luca leaned forward, tapping a map with a circled location. "We confirmed that their primary base of operations is here, in the outskirts of Naples. They've fortified the place pretty well, but we managed to gather some intel on their movements and supply routes. They're involved in everything from arms trafficking to extortion."

I nodded, digesting the information. Beatrice chimed in, "We also found out that they've been recruiting heavily. They're expanding their influence, trying to take over smaller territories and absorb other criminal organizations. It's a power play, and they're being ruthless about it."

My gaze shifted to Primo, who had been quiet until now. "But the most important piece of information is this." He handed me a photograph of a tattoo—an intricate design of a serpent coiled around a dagger. "We need to find out who this symbol belongs to. It's the key to identifying their leader."

Staring at the photograph, I felt a familiar mix of frustration and determination. No one must know, not yet. This symbol... whoever wears this tattoo has significant authority within the Silver Serpent. We need to find out more about them.

Luca crossed his arms, a skeptical look on his face. "We are beginning to track the person with all possible resources."

I glanced around the room, my mind racing. "No, we will start by looking into anyone who has been associated with the Silver Serpent in the past. Old allies, former members, anyone who might have inside knowledge. We need to dig into their history, their connections. There has to be someone who can point us in the right direction." I need more time, this is not the right time for them to know.

Beatrice sighed, rubbing her temples. "It's a long shot, but it's all we have. We can't let this lead slip through our fingers."

Primo added, "We also need to keep an eye on their current operations. If we disrupt their activities, it might flush out someone higher up in the chain. We can use the chaos to our advantage."

Nodding, I felt my resolve strengthening. "Agreed. We need to be strategic about this. Every piece of information we gather brings us closer to uncovering the person behind the tattoo. We can't afford any mistakes."

The room fell into a contemplative silence as we all processed the gravity of our mission. My mind flashed back to the suspicious figure I had seen during the raid. I had been so close, yet they had slipped through my fingers. The frustration and determination fueled my resolve.

I am going to find them. And when I do, I'll bring down the Silver Serpent once and for all.

As I pored over the gathered intel, trying to connect the dots, Primo approached me, his expression serious.

"Teresa, I think you should take a look at this," he said, placing a folder on the table in front of me.

I opened it, my eyes scanning the documents quickly. Primo continued, "We've been following up on potential connections to the Silver Serpent. Former allies, associates, people who might have knowledge of their inner workings."

I nodded, urging him to continue.

He flipped to a specific page, pointing to a list of names. "These individuals have been identified as having past associations with the Silver Serpent. Most of them are minor players, but one name stood out."

My heart skipped a beat as my eyes landed on the name he highlighted. He must be the person Marco was referring to. The man who killed him.

"No," I whispered, the word barely escaping my lips. Memories of my past flooded my mind, the warm and welcoming household that had once felt like my own.

Primo watched my reaction carefully. "I thought you should know. It's possible he has information that could be crucial to our mission. But I understand if this complicates things for you."

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my racing thoughts. I was curious, what more does he know?

Primo placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "We need to follow this lead, but I wanted to give you a heads-up before we proceed."

I nodded, my mind spinning with the implications. "We need to handle this delicately. For now, gather more intel, understand his role and motivations."

Primo agreed. "I'll start by monitoring his activities, see if there's any direct link between him and the Silver Serpent. If he is involved, we'll find a way to approach him without raising suspicion."

As he walked away, I was left grappling with a mix of shock and curiosity. Someone was now a potential link to the very organization we were trying to dismantle. The personal and professional stakes had never been higher.

Reflecting on the past, I realized how deeply intertwined our lives had been. He had always been there, a constant in a world of chaos. Now, the thought of facing him under these circumstances felt like another betrayal, both to him and the person I used to be.

I leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes for a moment. The mission had taken a personal turn, and I needed to navigate it with caution. My mind replayed memories of my childhood, the bond we shared, and the dreams we once had. How had things come to this?

But there was no time for sentimentality. I had a duty to fulfill, and I couldn't afford to let personal feelings cloud my judgment. Determined, I pushed aside the emotions swirling inside me and focused on the task at hand.

"I'll find the truth," I whispered to myself, a promise more to my past self than anyone else. "No matter what."
