Eunbi Pov
I forced myself to walk towards them but my body had a mind of its own. I spun around to see someone standing behind me. He had broad shoulders and a heavy smell of beer on his breath. When i saw his familiar face, thin icy vines wrapped my heart and fear spread like poison through my head to toe.
"Well, well..long time no see Eunbi" he evilly smiled.
"Mr Lee" i breathed. I already knew what he was going to say. It was coming. Beads of sweat trickled down the sides of my head.
"Where is it" he asked suddenly turning dark, face harderning. The smile was already gone. My fear was bubbling up.
"The money" he growled. "it's due today". His fist curled up and grinded his steel like teeth. He stood over me like a tower and scowled. I saw he had called the rest of his mates over. I was the target prey of a pack of hungry wolves. My fear had completely taken over me.
"One more month and i'll have it...just one, i promise" i desperately begged.
"i think i'll have to teach you a lesson before i leave" he whispered, the corners of his lips curling up.
His fist came in hard. The insides of my stomach were being stabbed. I screamed silently. the punches didn't stop. My eyes brinked with tears but i refused to cry. The agonising pain was unbearable. The last blow was the hardest. i staggered back and coughed as he released me. I noticed my hands were partially red. I had coughed up blood. I limped towards my apartment and up the stairs. My stomach my howling in pain. I felt dizzy and my vision was hazed. Outside my door i fumbled for the keys.
"Eunbi?" a familar voice said. I recognised his voice before i saw him
I turned around to face him.
"Jeon..Jung.....Kook" i panted not daring to look at his face. i heard him suck in his breath.
"What are.. you doing.. here" i asked before he could speak.
"I live here" he replied, still looking worried, gesturing to the door opposite mine.
I sighed. Not only is he my classmate but neighbour as well.
"What happened" he whispered in horror looking at my hands, face and stomach.
"Nothing" i mumbled.
"Tell me" he murmured, his large chocolate brown eyes gazing intently into mine. I sighed in surrender and let him come in.
As soon as i open the door, Bambi my mix spitz and lab breed puppy jumps on me and starts licking my face happily. Bambi is capable of making anyone laugh or smile. My face lights up and i embrace her lovingly, stroking her soft floppy ears. Exhausted i half sit, half collapse on the sofa in the living room and close my eyes, Bambi still on my lap. I felt the couch shift as Jungkook sat beside me.
Jungkook POV
The more i looked at the bruises on her arm the worse they looked. She looked so small and helpless. I could see faint stains of red patches on her white shirt. i smiled seeing her laugh and hug her puppy. I was startled by how different she looked when she laughed or smiled. i resisted the sudden urge to hug her the way she hugged bambi. "Whats wrong with me, she'd think i'm weird" i thought to myself.
Eunbi POV
"do you live alone" he asked.
"yeah"
"how come?"
"my parents died in a car accident when i was 14, i've lived alone since then"
"what about money?"
"my aunt sends me money every week and i have a part time job at a pet shop"
"how did you get those bruises"
"My dad owes some guy a large sum of money and he keeps demanding money from me. When i didn't have the money today he got angry and hit me i guess. He's coming back next month.." i shrugged.
"do you have enough money to pay him by next month" he anxiously asked.
"no.......not even close" i mumbled. i clutched my stomach to soothe the throbbing pain.
"what?!" he gasped. i looked at my feet.
"wait, i think i can come up with a plan, you can move over to my place since i live alone too and that'll save money for paying the house rent and i'll also help you earn money"
"What?!Move to your place?! Seriously?! No way" i half whisper half scream.
"why not?" Jungkook asked with a puzzled expression."just think about it"
"wait actually, thats no a bad idea" i slowly say with a hint of suspicion.
"You can start packing your stuff" he grinned. Im going to live with a person i only met today . wow
i rolled my eyes and smiled. I staggered up and made my way to the bedroom to get my things.
