Chapter Four

Long ago, when humans worshipped the gods and our dominion extended far above the clouds, we reigned over the Earth, and during my lifetime I've borne witness to countless tales, and only once have I regretted interfering.

I, served under a benevolent king the king of light, my loyalty unwavering. His selflessness echoed through the halls of the castle, and his people thrived under his wise rule, In that pivotal year, the king found himself faced with a choice—a choice that would shape not only his destiny but also the fate of the realm. Five consorts vied for his favor, their beauty, and wit like petals in a sun-kissed garden. Each held secrets, desires, and ambitions, waiting to be unraveled. And so, the king, burdened by duty and desire, stood at the crossroads of love and sovereignty. 

Ji-Min—the one who captured the king's heart. His beauty was like moonlight on still waters, and his intelligence was a constellation of wisdom. Their love blossomed amidst the palace gardens and rivers whispered secrets hidden among the petals. But fate, ever capricious, wove a tapestry of intrigue and longing.

Ji-Min, torn between duty and desire, found solace not only in the king's embrace but also in Yoon-Gi's steadfast protection. Their bonds, like fire and water, defied convention—dangerous yet irresistible. As the palace walls whispered secrets, Ji-Min grappled with a love that transcended boundaries.

Amidst the tumult of war, the king's attention waned, leaving Ji-Min adrift. Yet, in Yoon-Gi's steadfast presence, Ji-Min found solace. By the sea's edge, they danced—water and fire entwined. Ji-Min shaped barriers from the waves, concealing their stolen kisses and secrets. And when night fell, Yoon-Gi's warmth ignited a passion that transcended loyalty. The king's absence no longer bound Ji-Min's heart.

For months Ji-Min lay with Yoon-Gi so caught up in Yoon-Gi's burning passion for him he went lax in their secret affair no longer raising barriers when they were by the sea or in the chamber baths where he felt Yoon-Gi enter him so deeply. In the shadows, I observed that fateful night—the night when Ji-Min's heart spilled its secrets. His body entwined with Yoon-Gi's, their souls merging like water and fire. Ji-Min's whispered confessions echoed through the chamber, and Yoon-Gi, too, bared his heart. The king's decree hung heavy in the air, binding their destinies. As their love blazed, I wondered: Would loyalty or desire prevail?
