"Why did you agree to marry her, I thought you loved me"

"I did what i thought is best for both of us"

_____________________________________________________________________

Today was one of the days I've been deadening for so long. Today is the rehearsal dinner for Warrin's wedding. Warrin Frost is or was my lover. He is ten years older than me. He is a family friend who I grew up with. He also comes from one of the richest families in the world. And his mother Kiki is one of the most controlling people in the world. His mother set up an arranged marriage for him. And last but not least he is unable to give children. And no one as far as I know knew about me and Warrin.

I am Ember Winter. Me and my mother get out of the car and start walking up the stone steps to the Frost Family home where snow is slowly falling onto the ground and dancing in the slight wind . The Frost family home is around 500 years old and is a small vistorina castle. Tonight there are around 500 people coming to the dinner or party. We hand over coats and proceed to walk into the ballroom where the dinner is taking place. I greet my family and friends who have come for the wedding, some of them which had to travel a long way to get here.

I am tonight wearing a dark indigo mermaid dress with a sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder straps and black heels to match my wavy black hair. I look over and leaning up against the fireplace is a man with black curly hair wearing a sleek all black tux with a indigo tie that perfectly fits his body is the groom himself Warrin Frost. I gave a smile and nodded my head at him. He just looked at me with a straight face and turned away as his future wife ran up and jumped on his back giggling. For a split second I saw a look of discomfort and regret but quickly it went away and he started laughing along with her. His future wife's name is Karlee Augustine. Karlee is wearing a light blue mini shirt and a light blue crop top to match and white 10 inches stripper heels. Karlee is the definition of dumb blond and yes she is a blond.

"Ember!" I turned around to see Wolfy or Wolfgang, another family friend.

"Wolfy its been a while" i tell him

He lets out a sign, "yes it has. I cant believe Warrin is getting married. Seems like yesterday we were all playing today in Papa's heated Pool." he tells me.

Papa Nickolas is my grandfather but everyone calls him that since he acts like everyone's grandfather. Papa is the rich grandpa that likes to spoil everyone especially me since im his only actual grandkid. And I'm going to inherit everything he owns.

I look over my shoulder and say,"speak of the devil" and papa walks over

"Hello Wolfy and Hello my dearest Ember" he gives both of us a hug

At the same time me and wolfy say "hello papa" and bow our heads.

As papa is about to speak Kiki grabs a mic and gathers everyone's attention,

"Excuse me everyone, I would like to say welcome to our home and I hope you have fun tonight and also if you don't remember me or know who i am well then hello I am Kiki Frost the mother of the groom. So have a wondertime and I hope your stay here tonight is wonderful. Please go to sleep at a decent time because the wedding is tomorrow. ENJOY!" KIki tells the crowd. And the crowd starts clapping and slowly starts dying down. People start mingling. Music can be heard from the live band that is playing in the corner of the room.

"Ember" said papa

I turn around to face papa, "Yes papa" I ask him?

"Ember, I thought you liked Warrin" he asked me.

"What do you mean, of course I like Warrin" I tell him.

"You know that's not what I mean." he tells me

He looks away, his gaze on the future bride and groom. He turns his gaze back over to me, "Do you love him?"

I let out a sigh. My gaze turned over to the future groom , "I know Papa. I like him, yes. I did love him"

"No," he said, "you still love him, I know it."

I put my head down. Lowered my voice. Took a deep breath. And then whispered "yes"

Papa lets out a breath, "Does he know that you still love him"

I shake my head, and let out a quiet no.

Papa begins to shake his head. Followed by a long sigh. I begin to say something but one of the guests comes over and drags Papa away.

I let out a deep breath that I didn't realize that I was holding in. I look around the room looking for no one in particular. The world around me started to spin and the room felt like the room was in the fire pit of hell. I walk towards the door to exit the ballroom. Keeping on a happy face so no one would ask me how I'm doing.

I enter the corridor and walk down the hall. I have been into the house many times. I know every twist and turns. I even knew about the secret passageway.

I entered the cold library, dust covering most of the books while few books that had felt touched had no dust on their covers. The cold wind is fighting against the tall windows while shaking the glass. Along the walls, candle holders are in place. I walk along the bookcases going into the book cases. I reach the very end of the horror section which is in the corner of the room. I reach for the dustiest book on the shelf, pulling it back revealing one of the entrances to the secret passageway tunnels . The door slowly closes behind me with a creek.

The tunnels are dimly lit with lanterns lining the walls. I start walking down further into the tunnel. The walls are stone blocks. As I walk further into the tunnel it opens up to an open space with a bunch of hallways lending somewhere else. I take a step into space. Closing my eyes wondering what I'm ever doing here. Taking a deep breath.

I need to get out. I have to get away at this moment. I had to get away.
