you're scared of the dark

"Baby, do you want to call it a night?" Tsuki asked as she looked down at you.

Your head was resting on her chest and you felt so comfortable curled up in her warm embrace.

"You're falling asleep on me so I know you're tired."

"Yeah, I guess." You mumbled before opening your eyes with a yawn.

You stretched out your legs as she unwrapped her arms from around you and moved to plug her phone in for the night.

As your eyes began to close again due to how exhausted you were, you leaned back on the bed and put your head against her pillows.

You felt her cover you up with a fluffy blanket and you smiled a little, especially when her soft lips brushed against your forehead.

Everything was perfect.

This was your first night staying over with Tsuki and you were looking forward to getting a good night's rest in her arms.

You were already drifting off to sleep.

But when you heard the click of her switching off the lamp and then felt the room get dark, you panicked.

Your eyes flew open and a gasp left your lips before you sat up against the pillows.

"Tsuki?" You spoke anxiously.

"I'm here, darling, I'm here." She said reassuringly before putting her hand on your arm. "What's the matter?"

"Please turn the lamp back on. Please, Tsuki," You anxiously pleaded.

Tsuki turned it back on immediately and you closed your eyes before sighing in relief.

"What happened? You were so tired. I thought you'd want me to turn it off so you could sleep."

"There's something I haven't told you. I'm scared of the dark."

She nodded before taking your hand into hers.

"That makes sense now."

"I'm sorry if I worried you. It's just a fear I've never been able to shake. I can't stand the dark. I have to sleep with something on." You said and watched a small smile pull at her lips.

"Do nightlights help? I can buy you one for when you stay over with me."

"You'd do that for me? Because, yeah, they help."

"Of course I'd do that for you. Everyone's scared of something, Y/N. I have fears too. I will always do everything I can to make you feel better."

You leaned over and kissed her cheek softly, making her smile happily.

"For tonight, would turning the TV on help you?"

"Will it bother you?"

"Not at all." She assured before grabbing the remote.

She turned on a channel that played funny shows throughout the night.

Once it started playing and the room stayed lit up, you laid back down and breathed out another sigh of relief.

"That better, my love?"

"Much better, baby. Thank you." You said before cuddling up to her again. "I love you."

"I love you too." She smiled and kissed your forehead. "Goodnight, baby. Have sweet dreams."

"You too, baby. Goodnight."
