Solara Emerson just had a rough year with the Los Angeles Sparks. What happens when she's traded to the Phoenix mercury and meets Diana Taurasi and also runs into Seattle Storm star Jewell Loyd?
TODAY WAS THE DAY that Solara had to meet the team. She'd already had a couple of phone calls from the team coach and other important people that was going to be in her future from now on. She loved meeting new people but she hated the process of doing it.
She began walking into the huge building where the practice was being held this morning. She proceeded to walk in the gym where she found everyone zoned into their own conversation or just shooting free throws. She felt her anxiety start to peak and put her head to avoid eye contact.
"Hey! , hey Solara over here." She heard a firm but energetic voice yell her name out. she slowly walked over to the man and stood there looking at the ground until the man spoke again.
"Everyone gather around there's someone for you to meet." He voiced again. "This is Solara Emerson the 2 time champion from the Los Angeles Sparks ."
As the man kept talking she began to scan everyone that had formed a circle around her. She waved and held a small smile upon her face, receiving the same in return. Except from one person , the one and only Diana Taurasi.
She sent a smile her way but all she got in return was hard glare making her lips form a slight pout.
"Be nice to her , she might just be the sweetest thing you've met." Nate had told all the girls dismissing them all including Solara.
"Hey Solara , I'm Brittney." The very tall women spoke. She was taken aback by how deep her voice was but she seemed so sweet.
"Hi, nice to meet you Brittney!" Solara expressed with such excitement laced on her tone.
"Come on practice is finna start and we're besties now so we're working together." Brittney said while laughing.
Solara let out a soft giggle taking Brittneys hand and following her. She felt a very hard gaze on her which resulted in her turning her head and finding Diana mugging very harshly.
"She needs to shut the hell up man." Diana mumbled.
"Chill dee, she seems so sweet you should try to be nice." Sophie said.
"Anyway! You're ready for practice lara ." Brittney interrupted their conversation.
"Actually nah." Solara said receiving tons of laughs.
Practice was going very well she caught on to the drills very well and got along with the team more as the practice went on. They were running a scrimmage with her on the ball , her team was up by 2 with 10 seconds on the clock which meant either she had to drive in the paint or she had to shoot a deep three.
As she began to dribble left Brittney set a screen on kah which resulted in her going right pump faking and hitting a hesi pull. She hit buzzer and everyone jumped on her screaming out congratulations. Her cheeks warmed up as she smiled brightly at the team.
She was walking to the locker room when she was basically shoved out the way very harshly. She let out a soft whimper and got back up on her feet to only be faced with Diana with a glare upon her face.
"Watch where you going next and maybe you won't fall." Diana meanly said.
"But it wasn't my fault tho , you ran into me." Solara frowned.
"You heard what I said tho." Diana grumbled and shoulder bumped her out the way.
Even though Diana was being rude to her she couldn't find her self to be mean to the women. She was zoned out until she realized she'd been standing in the same spot for the past 5 minutes. Taking her basketball shoes off and grabbing her bag she walked to her black scat pack wide body and began to drive to McDonald's.
