Giyuu woke up with a jolt, his breathing quick and shallow. It took him a moment to remember where he was, his eyes quickly scanning the cabin. The morning light was beginning to filter through the windows, softly illuminating the room. He didn't remember falling asleep. When did this happen? He was alert, ready to act, but somehow his body gave in to fatigue.
Standing up abruptly, the hand instinctively reached for his katana. A quick look around revealed that the cabin was empty. You were nowhere to be found. His heart sped up, two thoughts appearing simultaneously in his mind: either you had run away, or you were out there in the sunlight, which meant your certain death.
"Shit," he muttered, worry clouding his thoughts. He couldn't let that happen. There was a lot at stake. He grabbed his sword and left the cabin, his eyes searching frantically for any sign of you. The forest around the cabin was quiet, the silence broken only by the subtle sounds of nature awakening.
He ran a few steps towards the clearing, trying not to think about the worst. Every second seemed like an eternity, and the thought that you might have been burned by the sun tormented him. However, he needed proof. Needed to be sure.
Finally, he spotted a figure in the distance, partially hidden among the trees. Hurrying, he approached, and his tension eased as he recognized you. You were under a tree, feeding a small bird, completely oblivious to the panic you had caused him. You held a sunshade and a small smile on your face. And Giyuu didn't know why, but this vision brought serenity to his heart.
— [Y/N]! — He called, his voice thick with relief and exasperation.
You turned around, surprise evident on your face. — Tomioka-san? What are you doing out here?
He moved closer, his breathing still ragged. - You disappeared. I thought you had run away or... — He stopped, not wanting to finish the sentence.
You looked at him, understanding the concern in his eyes. — I just went out to get some items before the sun got stronger. I always move in the shadows of trees and carry a sunshade. I didn't mean to worry you.
Worry.... Yes, Giyuu was worried but it wasn't for you, he just had to make sure that you will be alive to find the cure. Yes, that's definitely it.
Giyuu sighed, the tension finally leaving his body. — You should have warned me. I can't trust you if I don't know where you are. You could have run away.
You smiled, a shy but sincere smile. - Sorry. I'm used to doing this alone. I'll let you know next time.
He nodded, still a little uneasy, but relieved to see you safe. - Alright. Let's get back to the cabin before the sun gets any higher.
You let out a small sigh and looked at him with a determined look. — If you're so worried, you can join me on the walk. I need to pick up some items that are exposed to the sun. Can you help me?
