It was embarrassing how slow she was running with the heels on and Aurelio just striding to keep up with her.
"These stupid shoes!" She yelled trying to take them off in the attempt to escape. She heard Aurelio's mocking laugh behind her and she threw the shoes right at him, as if it would give her a head start and she took off down the flight of steps and into the driveway, screeching over every dead body she crossed.
She heard his steps behind her as she headed for the forest. His legs were far too tall for her to get away from and he was clearly too athletic.
The murderer caught up to her and she felt herself get out of breath. "You are a murderer!" She turned to look back at him.
What she was seeing before her was a huge contrast to what she just called the looming tall Mafia Leader. He was clutching her heels to his chest looking at her like he hadn't just ordered a warehouse of people dead. "You're a sick-sick monster. Is that how I am going to end up? Just get it over with then!" Daphne stomped her feet, feeling immensely powerless. She felt like she could just strangle the man.
"He wanted to rape you, Daphne. Maybe even worse." He told her walking over to her, using her moment of shock to pick her up in his arms bridal style. Her eyes widened even more as realisation what he just said drew on her.
Did he kill the man for her safety?
When it occurred to her she was being carried she started thrashing in his arms trying to bite, scratch and push at him, which only caused chaos. "Put me down, Aurelio!"
"Calmati donna." (Calm down woman.) Aurelio told her and she stopped her trashing seeing she was not going to win this war of strength.
"I don't want to go back in there." Daphne said confidently. She was afraid he was going to force her to look at the body again for punishment of running away or something. He seemed capable of something like that, didn't he?
He opened the car door with the hand holding her knees and kicked it open the rest of the way, putting her down in the passenger seat. She fell down with little struggle. His hand that was behind her back had also laced the ankle straps of the high heels through his fingers.
He gently took one of her feet and slid it into the high heel, clasping the band on and repeating it with the other foot.
She was too shocked and confused to speak. What was happening?
"Why did you need me at the meeting?" Daphne asked Aurelio as he rounded the car to get into the drivers seat.
"We're heading to the meeting now, I just had to take care of some business in there first." And that's when Daphne's jaw almost dropped to the ground.

The car was dead silent as Daphne stared out the window with her head resting back on the headrest. Her eyes were getting droopy from all the headaches she was getting.
It's not a good sign for her. She reached into the backseat and checked her backpack.
She forgot her damn pills. She threw it back into the backseat and closed her eyes for a bit.
She didn't like the uncomfortable silence so she turned on the radio for some background noise. It helped for the ringing in her ears as well.
She drifted in and out of sleep which helped with her pounding headaches, but her limbs still felt shaky. She needed those stupid pills.
Before she knew it Aurelio parked the car and got out, walking around to open the door for Daphne.
Her eyes narrowed at the bright lights of the building. It was some sort of business establishment. It had at least twenty floors and it was one of the tallest ones in the area.
She felt herself getting light headed, but regaining her focus on Aurelio. He frowned at her, waiting for her to get out of the car, offerring his hand as support. She swatted it away rudely and got out of the seat herself. He locked the car as she walked herself to the front door, him trudging behind.
