Regret.That's all she felt in this moment, blood spilling from her mouth with every cough, every breath felt like agony in her exhausted lungs, the ropes burning her bound wrists with every movement, the icy breeze nipping at her skin like starved wolves, the soft snowflakes now feeling like they were tearing into her skin like daggers as she sat on her knees, staring up at the night sky she once admired as a little girl as the man she loved held a gun to her head, darkness surrounding her as her body quivered from the cold, her body growing numb and time seemingly slowing down, the harsh howling of the wind fading out of her hearing, leaving only her ragged breathing. The snowfall looking so angelic, death had never looked so beautiful through vision blurred by tears as she accepted her fate. With her final breath, she spoke, "I'll see you in the afterlife." She whispered her last words, her admiration-filled eyes drifting to his cold and unforgiving gaze. She should've never got caught up in his life, never should have fell in love with him, never should have left her friend behind, never should have found th—
A gunshot rang out, followed by a muffled thud as she collapsed in the snow that slowly stained with her blood, nature finally claiming her life as the last grain of sand in her hourglass fell.
