[ Y'all this book is heavily inspired by a story on A03 called "Hey, Baby" by Anonymous. I'll have it linked in the comments. It's a Goyuu book, and it's reallllllyyyy good, and high-key better than what I wrote here. I wanted to write a Gojohime version of it so here you go.]

*****

Many unexpected things have occurred throughout Utahime's 30 years of living. Utahime liked to think the most surprising was when she realized she had feelings for the Gojo Satoru, but today proved her wrong.

It was a Thursday and Utahime had just finished exorcising a grade 1 cursed spirit and was on her way back to Jujutsu High. She had promised to spend the day with Shoko in Tokyo and that's what she was going to do. Utahime loved Tokyo. She loved Kyoto too, but Tokyo had something in it that just made her want to come back again and again. But walking in dark alleyways' to reach the high school was not one of those things.

Usually Utahime would pay no mind to anyone in there, sometimes there were eyes and sometimes there wasn't but her eyes were in front of her, focusing on the light at the end, leading her to the main streets. But today was different, today as she walked through the same old ally, wailing cries reached her ears, and Utahime being Utahime, was worried. She wanted to ignore it but the cries only got louder the further she walked and her eyes wandered around her searching for the cause only to find a little basket sitting at a wet corner. Utahime quickly made her way to peer into the basket to find...a baby.

A baby in an ally?! The semi-grade 1 sorcerer was quick to pick up the child. A baby could get easily sick in such conditions, and there certainly weren't any people around here. And who on earth would abandon a baby like this? Utahime checked for any scratches or wounds but found none. She took a moment to look at the child. Utahime guessed the child was around 1. It was surprisingly calm and had gorgeous blue eyes, astonishingly similar to someone else she knew.

"Who left you her?" Utahime asked but smacked herself right after. How was a fucking baby going to answer her?  But the baby seemed to only have one things on it's mind.

"Mama!" The tiny child in Utahime's arms cried out and gripped her Kosodo tightly. Utahime was about to have a heart attack, but the baby looked so happy as it cuddled into Utahime's arms.

"No, no, no, baby. I'm not your mother. I don't even know who your mother is?!"

But Utahime eventually gave up trying to convince the child she wasn't it's mother. The baby was on the verge of tears and Utahime let it have it's way. Taking the baby with her seemed to be the best option at the moment. She definitely couldn't leave it back in the basket, that would just be irresponsible. Besides, taking care of a baby couldn't be that hard, and this one seemed to be pretty calm for it's age too.

Utahime carefully wrapped her arms around the baby and held it closer to her chest, letting it close it's eyes, probably sleeping. Her eyes softened as she looked at the sleeping child in her arms.

"Oh, you poor baby, you must've had a hard time here." She cooed softly and continued her way to Jujutsu High with a sleeping baby in her arms.

                                                                                             _ _ _

Utahime sat in the teachers lounge as she held the said baby in her arms, feeding it tiny pieces of cut up strawberries.

She truly had no idea what to do about this baby. She could take it in, but would she have enough time to take care of it properly? I mean it was after all a baby, and she couldn't possibly leave it by itself. She also couldn't take it to work with her so without another person she couldn't take care of this baby by herself. She considered giving it up for adoption but who was certain that they could even take care of it properly. And half the adoption centers here were a joke. Utahime wasn't going to risk this child's safety.
