Hello! My name is Jack R. Rival. I'm an aspiring and upcoming author and have been an artist my whole life. In March of this year, I officially published my first ever novel titled: "WarEnder ACT: I". It was a really exciting experience and I want to thank my mom and my loving partner who have supported me through this whole journey, as well as Writer's Republic for giving me a chance, and getting my book in so many stores. This is my first work so I'm aware it's not perfect, but WarEnder will always have a place in my mind, even long after the series has ended.
This story has been in the back of my head for many years. It was created for a specific character of mine, who was so god-damn unique and special that he wouldn't fit into any of my other ones and had to have his own story.
Hence, the WarEnder series was born. A dystopian tale about a reality where the environment was destroyed at the cost of progression. A reality where war and violence are an everyday occurrence. A reality where a race of robots outnumbers the human race, but to mixed results. A reality where one man alone has to end the genocide and fix the world himself.
With that out of the way, let me introduce the main character of this series, and the namesake:
This is Diego Guererro, also known as The WarEnder.
A marvel of biology and technology combined. One that came to be at the price of trauma and the responsibility of keeping the whole world protected from itself. An almost prefect soldier.
Now, I know what you're thinking: "He doesn't look like that much."
And you'd be correct, he doesn't. He's 5'2 and 120 pounds for gods sake. But I wouldn't underestimate him... Because as harmless as deer may look, they can still be very deadly.
The WarEnder is deadly precise and has faster reaction time than any being in this world. Half his brain is a supercomputer, meaning he can solve the most difficult challenges in mere seconds. His vision is comparable to an eagle, even though he's blind in his left eye. He can run as fast as a race car and can survive falls of thousands of feet. He doesn't need to sleep, since the electricity constantly flowing through his body gives him more than enough physical and mental energy. Heck, he doesn't even need to drink water since he can just absorb the water particles in the air.
Despite all of this, he isn't indestructible. He still is susceptible to flesh wounds, and while his cybernetic parts are responsible for keeping him alive, he still needs to take care of his mortal body to function correctly.
Thankfully, he has his A.I. companion WNGMN (or Wingman) to keep him in check. I like to compare WNGMN to HandUnit from FNAF:SL; more annoying than helpful, but tries. WNGMN is Diego's only confidant, and really the only other voice he has by his side in this lonely, dying world. WNGMN protects Diego from the truths of this world and makes sure he takes care of his mortal flesh, as well as guide him through his missions. The A.I. is mostly a voice in Diego's head, but takes other robotic forms during the story.
