The carriages started to slow and I felt a small smile reach my face.

'Finally!' I thought to myself.

I could hear the the loud murmur and footsteps of people as they splashed through the puddles and into the castle.

"Padfoot mate, you were right! I should've eaten on the-," James started but froze, staring wide eyed at me and Sirius. Remus glanced up and stared at us, his eyes more questioning than shocked.

Sirius pulled his arm from around me and stood up quickly, not meeting James or Remus's gazes.

"Missed something I guess...," James muttered, chuckling slightly.

I saw Gabriela roll her eyes and stand up, pulling her trunk with her. Sirius just smirked and pulled our trunks out, handing me mine as I stood up.

Gabriela opened the door and we all climbed out, pulling our trunks with us, and running for cover from the cold pouring rain.

I looked up and shuddered as a bright streak cut through the stormy clouds and a loud rumble shook the air around me.

I yelped softly and squeezed my eyes shut, slowing down slightly.

I felt someone grab my wrist and start to pull me along faster.

"Come on, I know you can run faster than that!" Sirius yelled through the pounding rain, grinning at me.

I smiled back at him weakly, my eyes darting back up to the rumbling sky.

He reached forward, intertwining our hands and pulled me to his side. I looked up at him in surprise.

He glanced at the castle and then back at me and said, "Race you to the castle?"

I glanced at the castle and than back at him, a small smile sliding onto my face.

"Hmm it depends, what are the stakes?" I said laughing slightly.

He thought for a second. "Loser buys the winner a butterbeer."

"Deal," I said shaking our already entwined hands.

We took off, racing through the rain. I felt myself becoming more and more drenched by the second. And colder and colder the faster I ran.

I whipped my head to the side and my hair cascaded into my flushed face, sticking to my dripping skin.

I bounded into the castle, letting the warm air engulf me, with Sirius right behind me. James, Remus, and Gabriela were waiting for us just inside the castle.

I turned to Sirius, smiling triumphantly,"I won!" I said.

He rolled his eyes at me and smiled, "I'll have you know that I let you win! But a deals a deal... You'll get your butterbeer. I promise."

"Liar," I muttered, punching him playfully.

He rolled his eyes at me and smiled, laughing quietly. "I could've beat you if I actually tried."

"And why didn't you try?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at him.

He laughed,"Well I guess because I had to stay behind you and make sure you didn't stop again. I mean at the rate you were going, you would've been out there until tomorrow."

I grimaced and rolled my eyes at him. "Kyle or Blake would've come if Gabriela and I weren't at the feast."

He frowned at me, narrowing his eyes.

"Yeah I should've known... So I suppose you would've rather me just left you out there then?" He said gruffly.

"No! That's not at all what I meant. Why-...why would you even think that?" I said, my voice rising slightly.

He shook his head and opened his mouth to respond, but stopped and narrowed his eyes at someone behind me.

I felt a light tap on my shoulder, and turned to see Gabriela giving Sirius a glare, her eyes filled with impatience.

"You ready?" She said, her voice dangerously calm.

I watched her carefully before nodding and turning to give Sirius one last glance. He just stood there, his face unreadable.

I turned away and met Gabriela's light gaze. She smiled happily, seemingly satisfied that we were finally on our way to the great hall.

Her gaze shifted to James and Remus, who were still waiting for Peter, and she frowned again.

"Is he walking in slow motion or is he really that intrigued by the sight of rain?" Gabriela said rolling her eyes.

"Shutup Hollins. Just go run along and find Riley and Lincoln... we all know you both stick to them like glue anyway," James snapped

"That's what friends do... they stick together! I thought you of all people would know that, Potter." Gabriela spat back, taking a step forward.

"Well I guess I just don't understand why you'd ever want to be friends with arrogant, self absorbed, slimy gits like them!" He said angrily, taking a step towards her.

"Like you're one to talk!" Gabriela yelled, stepping closer to him.

James opened his mouth to retort, taking another step forward, when Peter finally came crashing inside, completely drenched from head to toe.

Gabriela rolled her eyes at him in disgust as he looked at all of us in confusion.

I sighed tiredly and walked foward grabbing Gabriela's wrist and pulling her away from James. "Come on, Lets just go. I'm starving...," I said pulling her with me to the great hall.
