The Man

MAIZES:

~Three Weeks Later~

I woke up in the middle of the night hugging Crush and my body wrapped up in my Belle blanket, the same way that Bubby had tucked me in.

I got up from my bed in a daze, I walked out of my room carefully opening the door to go find Xander.

I also learned where everything was in this house, apparently my room is next to Xanders and Luca's.

As I walked down the hallway, I bumped into something, it felt like a person.

I looked up and backed away as soon as my eyes saw who was in front of me.

It was a shorter, stubbier man with crooked yellowish teeth.

"Why what do we have here?" I backed up more until I tripped over my own feet. He stood in front of me and crouched to my level giving me a scary look.

His nose was like gru from the movie with the minions, his eyes were like the lady that gave snow white the apple.

I tried to get away more, but he just would come closer and closer.

"Where did your aunt put the money? I bet you know exactly where" He mumbled the last part.

I didn't answer not knowing how to respond, I don't have an aunt. Instead, tears started to form in my eyes as the man glared towards me.

"Where'd she put it?" He repeated sounding madder. His nose got bigger when he said that. I clutched onto my blanket and Crush even tighter as he said that.

I heard a door creak open after he said that. The man said something under his breath before creeping away. All the sudden, Bubby appeared.

"Bubby someone's in here" I said worried.

"What?" He said tired

"T-There was a man!" I cried. He carried me into his room closing the door behind us.

"Which way did he go?" He asked setting me on his bed.

I now see what he is wearing, sweatpants, no shirt and very messy hair. He looks very tired and now you can see most of his tattoos.

"T-to the stairs" I answer. He only nods and grabs something from his dresser drawer sticking it into his waist band. He grabs his phone and types quickly before putting it in his pocket.

"Go in the bathroom and play hide and seek for me while I find the monster. I will have Xavier or Xander come get you. Only come out when one of us comes back, ok?" I agree and go hide.

He leaves the room quietly closing the door behind him, I decide to sit in the bathtub and wait for Xander or Xavier.

Soon the door opens revealing, Xavier. He comes over and takes my free hand walking me over to Bubby's bed.

"Nic will be back soon, until then why don't you get some rest?" I see Luca and Xander sitting on the couch looking a bit worried.

Xavier gently tucked me into Bubby's bed sitting on the end of it.

I soon fell into a deep sleep.

*GIO'S POV*

I awoke to a text from my younger brother, Nic. Someone was inside of our house, I looked into what Maize had said.

I checked the cameras and found a video of some nasty looking person talking to Maize.

I followed whoever or whatever it was to the kitchen where they stopped and stood in the middle of the kitchen.

I called Nic and let him know to meet me there and that they were in there according to the cameras.

I walked into the room with my gun out staring at Nic who had our visitor in a chokehold.

"Nic, let him go for a moment. I would like to hear what he has to say" He let the now purple man go, his entire body clashing against the floor.

"Why were you talking to our little sister?" I questioned.

"Your little sister knows where MY money is" He almost yelled.

"How would she know where your money is? Better yet why would you think it would be a good idea to break into my home and scare my younger siblings?" I demanded as he had the same grouchy look on his face.

This guy is lucky that Atlas is out hooking up with someone, Atlas has always been the most violent out of all of us surprisingly. And if it had to do with someone scaring her, he would most likely kill them.

The man decided not to speak anymore, and I decided I had heard enough out of his disgusting mouth.

"Can you have Rico and Francesco pick him up and take him to warehouse 26 I don't want to waste any more time on him" I say clearly annoyed. Nic is fast to call them and get this ugly man out of here.

I am not having anyone killed in my own home. The blood is hard to get out if it gets on anything cloth. Rico and Francesco are two of my most trustworthy workers.

Soon, we hand him over to Rico and Francesco. Now we are able to go see what all he did to our sister.

When we rush up the stairs and into Nic's room. I find Luca pacing around distraught, as soon as he sees us he hugs me. I pull away after a few minutes looking into my youngest brothers red puffy eyes.

"You were worried?" Instead of answering he hugs tighter not wanting to let go. Xander and Xavier seem relieved now that it's over. Our sister is asleep with puffy eyes gripping onto her stuffed animal and blanket.

Nic gets back into bed taking care of Maize while I decide to put our youngest brother to bed.

I notice as Xander and Xavier both go to sleep in Xaviers room while Luca and I head to my room.

I tuck him into my bed grabbing a pillow and blanket that he doesn't use. I make myself comfy on my couch.

I start to fall asleep but wake up to Xavier and Xander coming into my room, shutting the door behind them.

They brought a few pillows and blankets.

Xander gets on the bed next to Luca while I take my armchair giving up the couch to Xavier. He mumbles a quick thank you before falling asleep.

Soon I fall into a deep slumber.
