As she turned the last page of her diary, closing it after ten years, today marked a momentous occasion: James's wedding day. He appeared joyful, yet a faint hint of concern lingered on his face, despite his efforts to conceal it. Ruhana, James's mother, noticed his tense demeanor and gently inquired if something troubled him.

"Uh, just a touch of nervousness, Mom," James replied with a forced smile.

Ruhana studied him briefly, then smiled knowingly before leaving him to prepare. Over time, dreams often give way to nervousness and tension, she thought.

Hours later, James retreated to his room to dress for the wedding. Upon entering, he noticed an envelope and a box near his coat. Curious, he picked up the envelope and was stunned to see Julia's name written on it. He hesitated, then decided to open it after a quick shower.

Inside, alongside a necklace, was a letter. James stared at the necklace for a moment before placing it next to a similar one already on the table. Just as he began to read the letter, his mother returned and asked if he was ready.

This moment held the promise of something significant, something from his past intertwining with his present.
