{Short story/ I have no ideas rn}

My afternoon has been long and dreadful, maybe it's the long nights of patrol. There's nothing keeping me up beside these two idiots. But it's almost time to leave, but I feel a need to stay .

Sanemi and Iguro have been fighting for the past hours or so. I just been sitting and watching and watching. My eyes start to shut, but there so fast I can't just watch forever.

I can't keep up with them in the moment, I lean my chin onto my hands pushing myself down. I can hear the strong hits and slashes of the wooden swords against each other.

Iguro, he's the one that asked me to stay rudely even. But for Kaburamaru his snake being on his neck scared me to stay more. But he might seem scary but he's really adorable. Kaburamaru of course.

But my eyes were close,  my body was tired and asleep. I don't know how much time is passing but I'm dreaming of seeing my cats again.

There at home waiting for me as well and Iguro maybe visiting them after learning their names.

30 minutes; Iguro pov

"She's fast asleep, I don't get how she became a hashira.." Sanemi states chuckling

He leans in soon to touch her hair to pat her awake. Why is he touching her so casually ? But why do I care, I don't care but still.

"Don't I'll take her home." I say calmly behind my bandage

"Okay." He says walking away

Sanemi not touching her made my heart beat calm down because he shouldn't have. I calmly resort to placing her on my back, trying not to wake her up.

She was a heavy sleeper I notice her dosing off time to time whenever she trained some kids. Even half dozing she still quickly made them fall to their knees.

The air was windy the sun was finally dropping, the night was soon to come. The sooner she gets home the safer she'll be.

11 minutes later Y/n pov

My eyes slowly open, to the sight of my traditional house right in front of me. Last thing I remember is seeing Iguro and Sanemi fighting right in front of me. But now the sun was down and I was being moved.

I see the familiar uniform that I had my legs wrapped around his waist. Soft and white and black; I just lay my head down on his shoulder.

"Thank you Iguro..." I say

He turns himself around allowing me to take a step back on my wooden porch. He doesn't respond to my thanks but nods.

"Why don't you meet my cats ? I know it's late but...-"

"Yes that's fine." He says responding quickly

I smile softly as I enter into my home, hearing the small foot steps of my cat Penguin. I take off my shoes as Iguro does the same behind me. Penguin because his fur is black and white.

"Penguin..." I look down at the adorable cat, he lets out a meow

I pick him up knowing he's a full grown cat and I turn to Iguro showing him Penguin. His different color of eyes seem to widen then calm down.

Kaburamaru leans in closer from Iguro shoulder towards Penguin, noticing the rare cat.

"He's cute isn't he, and it isn't just him.." I place Penguin down

I walk more into my home down the steep hallway smelling the floral flowers around my house. Into one of my rooms, following behind Penguin.

I open the door turning on a small yellow light that was dim but enough to see the family of fur balls. Peaches was the name of the orange female cat laying down with her baby's rubbing on her belly.

She's given birth recently so taking care of a full family has been tuff. I crouch down doing an Asian squat so I can see the small family of 5.

"Come see, she's harmless. Her name is peaches." I say to Iguro standing beside me

He doesn't squat down but lays his finger low so Penguin and Peaches can smell him. A small hiss came from Penguin as Kaburamaru near to him.

"Oh I'm sorry, he doesn't usually see other animals.." I say standing up making distance between us and the family

He looks into my eyes but doesn't respond as much as usual. He leans forward towards me, closing the space between us.

"What are you doing ?.." I ask nervously

He grabs a piece of fur from my hair that was clearly Penguin fur.

"You should think of brushing your cats hair." He says exiting the room

I stand for a second but follow behind him.

"I will, I usually do that.." I say

He was putting his pair of shoes on , clearly ready to leave.

"Thank you for bringing home." I say once again thanking him

"Good night Y/n." He says closing the door leaving

Unknowingly to me, his heart was beating to fast with the scent of my home, the touch of my soft hair and the kindness towards my family of cats.

Next morning; Hashira meeting ends

I sigh to the long meeting we had today but I finally have the chance to go on my missions. I depart ways from Mitsuri in the hallway noticing Iguro standing there waiting.

"Take these, it's for you to sleep better." (Shinobu made these)

Before I can look up from the wrapped up bottle of pills to thank him, he was gone. I turn over seeing Mitsuri standing there with a blush on her face.

"I smell love in the air.." says the cute love hashira

"It's nothing like that.." I say denying feeling butterflies in my stomach

It shouldn't be nothing like that , I have more important priorities right now as a hashira.
