two.
Destiny sat at the table, menu in hand, her eyes scanning the various options before her.
She was meeting her cousin-in-law and one of her closest friends, Trinity for lunch, and she wanted to make sure she chose something delectable to satisfy her appetite.
It had been too long since the two of them had been able to catch up, with their busy schedules and ever-growing families.
Destiny couldn't help but smile as she thought about how frantic Trinity tended to be, always running late and apologizing profusely. That was just part of her charm.
The restaurant was bustling with the lunchtime crowd, the air filled with the tantalizing aromas of sizzling meats and freshly baked bread.
Destiny inhaled deeply, her senses awakened by the inviting smells. She couldn't wait to dive into a hearty meal and enjoy some uninterrupted conversation with Trinity.
As a mother of nine, Destiny cherished these rare moments of adult interaction, free from the constant demands of her children.
Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps caught Destiny's attention, and she looked up to see Trinity rushing through the door, her eyes darting around the room until they landed on Destiny.
A wide grin spread across Trinity's face as she made her way to the table, her words tumbling out in a frantic apology.
"I'm here! Sorry, Des, I got stuck in traffic! How are you doing gorgeous?" Trinity said, her voice laced with both relief and excitement.
Destiny couldn't help but laugh as she stood up to greet her friend, pulling her into a warm embrace.
"Oh girl, you were one minute from having lunch alone. I'm good, how are you?" she replied, her tone playful and affectionate.
Trinity's infectious energy always had a way of lifting Destiny's spirits. Despite her chronic tardiness, Destiny couldn't help but adore her friend's bubbly personality and genuine concern for her well-being.
"I'm sorry, I know I'm a mess with a serious time management problem. I'm good though, what about you?" Trinity asked, her eyes sparkling with genuine curiosity.
Destiny settled back into her seat, her gaze softening as she considered Trinity's question. "I've been pretty good, doing the same regular ole two-step with Joe and the kids," she answered, a slight shrug of her shoulders conveying both the challenges and the joys of her family life.
Trinity's brow furrowed as she processed Destiny's response, and then her eyes widened with realization.
"Speaking of the kids... what's this I hear about another baby. Des, y'all can't be serious about having another baby," she exclaimed, her voice laced with a mixture of surprise and concern.
Destiny couldn't help but chuckle at Trinity's reaction. She had known this topic would come up, and she was prepared to address it head-on. "I've gotta admit we have thought about it but no we won't be having a tenth child. I'm done for sure, *shrugs*" she said, her tone matter-of-fact but with a hint of amusement.
The two women continued to catch up, their conversation flowing effortlessly as they ordered their meals and drinks.
Destiny found herself relishing the opportunity to discuss something other than the demands of her household and the challenges of raising a large family.
With Trinity, she could let her guard down and simply enjoy the moment, basking in the comfort of their long-standing friendship.
As their lunch progressed, the conversation inevitably turned to Destiny's wrestling career, a topic that had been weighing heavily on her mind.
