Diva Sato

Diva never took on an official last name as she was not fond of Goldsmith. The last name Sato was one she chose from a list seeing as she was never adopted by anyone. On the day of Joel's birthday Diva massacred party-goers instead and had set the Zoo in retribution for the years of torment and isolation she had suffered.

Diva was born 1833 in Bordeaux, France from the fossilized remains of her mother the chiropteran mummy SAYA along with her sister. Curious upon these things they tried to open the cocoons by force but to no avail when even blades cannot be of use. However, the cocoons "hatched" once they were bled upon and inside revealed two babies in the form of human infants. Intrigued by what they witnessed Joel and Amshel separated the babies and formed a social experiment. While Joel took the older infant for himself and named her Saya after the Chiropteran Mummy, the younger infant was confined to a locked room within a cage at the top of the tower without being even given a proper name.

Diva also murdered Amshel. The details of her abandoning the Zoo are left to speculation though it's assumed she already had funds and skills to migrate without the need for a companion.

Whether or not she ever saw Saya again is also unknown.

An unspecified amount of time later, Diva moved to Japan, often under different aliases before taking back her name and finding a surname. Her occupations have varied from cashier, waitress, housekeeper before settling.
