The night was alive with music and laughter as Kacy arrived at Lena's party. The anime decorations and vibrant lights gave the place a unique, energetic vibe. Kacy felt a bit out of place but was determined to have a good time.

"Hey, Kacy! Over here!" Lena waved her over. Kacy smiled and made her way through the crowd. Lena handed her a drink, and they started chatting, catching up on old times.

It wasn't long before Kacy noticed João across the room, laughing with a group of friends. Her mood soured instantly, but she tried to shake it off. This was a party, after all, and she wasn't going to let him ruin it.

The night progressed with more drinks and increasingly rowdy games. First up was Truth or Dare, which led to some hilarious and awkward moments .
Next was Two Lies, One Truth. The group had fun guessing each other's secrets, and the alcohol made everything funnier. Then came Kiss Anywhere, which resulted in a lot of giggles and bold moves.

The final game was 7 Minutes in Heaven. Kacy's heart sank when she realized she was paired with João. They were pushed into a closet, and the door was shut behind them.

"Well, this is awkward," João muttered.

"No kidding," Kacy replied, rolling her eyes.

There was a moment of silence, and then João leaned in as if to kiss her. Kacy's breath caught, but just before their lips touched, he pulled back.

"Not here. Not like this," he whispered.

They exited the closet to a chorus of boos and cheers, and the party continued. However, the tension between them was thicker than ever.

As the night wore on and the drinks kept flowing, Kacy and João found themselves in another argument. It started with a playful jab but quickly escalated.

"At least I didn't shit in the jacuzzi!" João blurted out, laughing.

"At least I didn't suck my own dick !" Kacy shot back, her words dripping with sarcasm.

The room fell silent, and João's face hardened. "At least I wasn't beaten up by my own father," he said, his voice cold and unfeeling.

Kacy's world stopped. She felt like she had been punched in the gut. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she couldn't hold them back. She turned and ran to the bathroom, locking the door behind her.

Alone in the bathroom, Kacy leaned against the sink, staring at her reflection in the mirror. She felt empty, as if a weight had settled in her chest and refused to budge. The pain of her father's absence and the memories of their tumultuous relationship flooded her mind. She couldn't shake the feeling of longing for something she couldn't name.

"This is it," she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible over the music from the party outside. "Because suddenly, the world went quiet."

João stood outside the bathroom door, his heart heavy with remorse. He knew he had hurt her deeply with his thoughtless words. Taking a deep breath, he knocked softly.

"Kacy, I'm so sorry," he said through the door. "I didn't mean it. Please, let me in."

There was no response for a long moment, just the sound of her muffled sobs. João leaned against the door, cursing himself for his cruelty. He knew he had a lot to make up for, but he was determined to try.

After what felt like an eternity, the door creaked open. Kacy stood there, her eyes red and puffy. She looked at him with a mixture of anger and pain, but there was also something else in her gaze – a vulnerability he had never seen before.

"Kacy, I-I really am sorry," João began again, his voice soft and sincere. "I never should have said that. I was way out of line."

Kacy didn't say anything. She simply looked at him, her expression unreadable. After a moment, she surprised him by stepping forward and wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug. João was shocked but didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around her, holding her close.

She buried her face in the crook of his neck, and João felt her trembling against him. He held her tighter, silently promising to never hurt her like that again.
