Little Butterfly~

As the applause dies down and the crowd begins to disperse, I spot Mr. Carson, the director of The Smith Company, making his way towards me. His presence commands attention, and I feel a mix of nerves and excitement fluttering in my chest. Neva gives my hand a reassuring squeeze before stepping aside to let him approach.

"Sophie, that was an exceptional speech," he says warmly, extending his hand. "You were always the best employee we could have ever asked for."

I shake his hand, my smile widening. "Thank you so much, Mr. Carson. Your support has meant everything to me."

"I'm so glad you could make it out here tonight, Miss Hart," he continues, his tone sincere and appreciative. "Even though you do not work here now, your presence is a golden one."

His words touch me deeply. Leaving The Smith Company was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, but hearing his praise reassures me that I left a positive impact. "It means a lot to hear that," I reply. "My time with The Smith Company was transformative, and I'll always be grateful for the opportunities and support I received."

Mr. Carson nods, his eyes reflecting a shared understanding. "You brought so much creativity and dedication to every project. Your work set a standard of excellence that continues to inspire our team."

I feel a swell of pride and gratitude. "I learned so much during my time there. It was an honor to be part of such an innovative and talented team."

He smiles, a hint of nostalgia in his expression. "You've grown into an extraordinary designer, Sophie. Your journey is a testament to your resilience and talent. We were lucky to have you, and we continue to follow your success with admiration."

"Thank you," I say, my voice filled with emotion. "I'm incredibly proud of what I achieved at The Smith Company, and I'm grateful for the foundation it provided me."

Mr. Carson places a hand on my shoulder, his expression earnest. "Keep pushing boundaries and inspiring others with your work. You're making a significant impact, and I have no doubt you'll continue to do so."

"I will," I promise, feeling a renewed sense of determination. "Thank you for believing in me."

"Now," Mr. Carson says, his eyes twinkling with a hint of mischief, "let's get you ready for the next part of the evening. Tonight's seminar party is a masquerade, and everyone needs to wear a mask."

Neva and I exchange excited glances as Mr. Carson guides us towards a table covered with an array of beautiful masks. The sight of them, each unique and elaborate, adds an element of enchantment to the evening.

I shuffle through the masks, my fingers brushing against the various textures and designs. One mask, in particular, catches my eye. It's elegant and adorned with fluffy feathers, the perfect blend of sophistication and whimsy.

"This one," I say, picking it up and holding it against my face. "It's perfect."

Neva grins, selecting a delicate, jeweled mask for herself. "You look stunning, Soph."

I secure the mask in place, feeling a sense of excitement and transformation as it settles comfortably. The mask adds an air of mystery and intrigue, complementing the evening's magical atmosphere.

Mr. Carson smiles approvingly. "You both look fantastic. Enjoy the rest of the evening, Sophie. You've earned it."

As Neva and I make our way back into the crowd, now masked and ready for the masquerade, I feel a renewed sense of exhilaration. Tonight has been a celebration of my journey, my achievements, and the incredible support of those around me.
