"Soobin, that day replays in my mind over and over again." You admit, staring at the pavement.

Soobin avoids eye contact, looking at the same ground, "What would've happened if you didn't walk away Y/n?"

You shrug, "I guess we would've dated, but then I would've lost my best friend at some point."

Soobin looks at you, "Why would you have lost me?"

"Wrong timing, right person?" You say, stumped. "I don't know Soobin, but I just don't believe in high school sweethearts, not then, not now, I don't..." You sigh. "We've been friends for so long, and a relationship would jeopardize our friendship."

"What about Jaemin?" He asks, suddenly.

You laugh, "What?"

"You just got out of a relationship, and we're sitting here talking about how it could've been between us, I don't want to give my heart to someone who is freshly out of a relationship." Soobin tells you.

You nod, "You're right, and I don't want to give my heart to someone right as I come out of a relationship, but I can't lie and say there's nothing between us."

Soobin smiles.

"I'm not asking you to be my boyfriend, or to be loyal to me, but all I ask is that we can try, to figure out our faults and our positives, and if you decide... if we decide we want more, then we don't hold back." You tell him. "I'm tired of holding back, I'm tired of thinking about the what if's, I'm tired of all of it."

Soobin grabs your hands, "I feel like I'm courting you." He tells you, laughing. "But if this means that maybe we can be something, then I'm not opposed to it."

And that's what he did, he courted you. He was a busy guy, there's no doubt about that. But he made time for you, he didn't wait for time to free up, he made it for you. And that's all you could ask for.

He took you out on cute "adventures," that's what he called them. Not dates, not hang-outs, they were adventures. Your family already held open arms for him, and even though you two weren't "official" everyone could see it.

It was like you guys were dating, but he gave you time to heal. He never made an unsolicited move on you, and he was always there for you, every hour, every minute, and every second. Literally every day of the week.

And that brings you to today.

"This is really too much Soobin." You are astounded by your surroundings. You took a deep breath in, the lights, the scenery, the flowers that surrounded the gazebo, the table that stood in the middle with two plates and a candle.

Soobin pulls out your chair and gestures for you to sit down, "I hope you like it."

You take a seat and nod, "I love it Soob, I love it so much."

Soobin takes a seat across from you, "Anyone who would see this would assume I'm about to propose, right?" He asks, laughing.

You nod, laughing as well, "Yeah."

Someone pulls a cart along with them with food on it as they set it down in front of the two of you. "Enjoy your meals." They say before walking away, leaving the two of you be.

You pick up your fork and twirl the pasta between the prongs, "What's all this for?" You ask before putting the pasta in your mouth.

Soobin smiles at you, "I'm tired of not officially having you as mine, Y/n."

"Are you asking me what I think you're asking me right now, Soob?" You ask, a slight chuckle following your question.

"Y/n, will you be my girlfriend?" Soobin asks, holding your hand across the table, as his thumb gently circles your knuckle.

You couldn't help but let out a cheesy smile, you've been waiting for what feels like forever for this moment, "Of course I will."
