The sun was already streaming through the windows when Justin and Ava woke up the next morning. They decided to make breakfast together, their movements synchronizing naturally as they navigated the kitchen. Justin whipped up some scrambled eggs while Ava prepared toast and fresh fruit. Their easy banter and shared laughter filled the room, making the mundane task feel special.
"You're a surprisingly good cook," Ava remarked, flipping the last slice of toast onto a plate.
Justin grinned. "Thanks. My mom taught me a few things before... well, before everything got complicated."
After breakfast, Ava mentioned she had some studying to do. "I'm struggling with taxation. It's so dry and confusing," she confessed, a note of frustration in her voice.
Justin's face lit up. "I can help with that! I actually did well in my accounting classes."
Ava's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Really? That would be amazing!"
They settled at the kitchen table, textbooks and notes spread out before them. Justin patiently explained concepts and walked Ava through practice problems, his clear explanations making the material much easier to understand. Ava's initial surprise turned into admiration as she realized just how knowledgeable and patient he was.
"You're a lifesaver, Justin," Ava said gratefully, a big smile on her face. "I think I actually get this now."
"Anytime," Justin replied, feeling a sense of pride in being able to help her.
After a productive morning of studying, they decided to relax with lunch on the couch. Ava suggested they watch "Lovely Runner," a popular romantic drama she loved. As they ate, the story unfolded on the screen, drawing them both in.
A kiss scene appeared on the screen, making them both blush and feel a slight chill. They exchanged awkward glances but quickly focused back on the drama, trying to ignore the butterflies in their stomachs.
When the episode ended, they stood up to take their dishes to the kitchen. As Ava turned to go, she slipped on the edge of the rug and fell forward, right into Justin. He instinctively caught her, and in the process, their lips met in another accidental kiss. This time, the touch lingered just a moment longer, both of them feeling the intensity of the unexpected contact.
Ava pulled back quickly, her face red with embarrassment. "I'm so sorry, Justin! I didn't mean to..."
Justin, equally flustered, shook his head. "It's okay, Ava. Really, it was just an accident."
Just then, another kiss scene popped up on the screen, adding to their embarrassment. They both laughed nervously, trying to shake off the awkwardness.
"Maybe we should stick to comedies from now on," Justin suggested, trying to lighten the mood.
Ava nodded, still blushing but managing a smile. "Good idea. Let's clean up and find something else to watch."
They quickly tidied up the kitchen, the earlier tension between them gradually easing. Despite the awkward moments, there was an undeniable connection growing stronger each day, and both Justin and Ava couldn't help but wonder where this unexpected journey would lead them next.
After their accidental kiss and an afternoon filled with light-hearted activities, Ava announced she needed a power nap. "I'm going to catch some sleep," she said, heading towards her room. She smiled, a blush spreading across her cheeks as she closed the door behind her. Inside, she lay on her bed, her mind racing with the day's events and creating playful, romantic scenarios.
She giggled to herself, imagining different situations with Justin, each one more whimsical than the last. Her imagination ran wild, and soon enough, the excitement and exhaustion from the day caught up with her. Before she knew it, Ava drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
Meanwhile, Justin decided to surprise her with some of her favorite dinner. He quietly moved around the kitchen, preparing chicken burgers and a hot, bubbling pizza. The delicious aromas filled the apartment, creating a welcoming atmosphere. He worked meticulously, wanting everything to be perfect for Ava.
After a couple of hours, Ava woke up feeling refreshed. She stretched and yawned, then noticed the enticing smell coming from the kitchen. Curiosity piqued, she got out of bed and walked towards the source of the aroma.
When she entered the kitchen, her eyes widened with delight at the sight of the beautifully arranged dinner table. "Justin, did you make all this?" she exclaimed, her face lighting up with excitement.
Justin smiled, pleased with her reaction. "I thought you might like some chicken burgers and pizza. I hope you're hungry."
Ava's smile was infectious as she looked at the food. "This is amazing, Justin! Thank you so much."
But then, her smile faded a bit, and she looked at him with a mix of amusement and concern. "But if you keep pampering me like this, I'll get fat. You treat me like a princess!"
Justin laughed, shaking his head. "You deserve to be treated like a princess, Ava. And besides, a little indulgence every now and then won't hurt."
Ava giggled, her playful side returning. "Okay, but don't blame me if I can't fit through the door by the end of the week!"
They both laughed, and Justin pulled out a chair for her. "Come on, sit down. Let's enjoy this feast together."
As they ate, their conversation flowed naturally, filled with jokes, shared stories, and moments of genuine connection. Ava took a bite of her burger, savoring the flavors. "This is so good, Justin. Seriously, you should become a chef."
Justin blushed slightly. "I'm glad you like it. I just wanted to do something special for you."
Ava looked at him with gratitude. "You've done more than enough, Justin. I feel so lucky to have met you."
He smiled, feeling a warm sense of fulfillment. "I feel the same way, Ava. This week has been... unexpected but wonderful."
They continued their meal, sharing more laughter and bonding over their mutual appreciation for good food and each other's company. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, the earlier awkwardness long forgotten.
As the evening went on, Ava couldn't help but feel a growing sense of affection for Justin. His kindness, thoughtfulness, and the way he made her feel special was unlike anything she had experienced before. She glanced at him, wondering what the future held for them, but for now, she was content to enjoy each moment as it came.
