meant to be ( a Zalfie fanfic)

just friends. part 1

zoe:

It was Saturday morning, and i was actually up quite early, 6 am, considering we were leaving for florida to go to playlist live at 11. I can't wait to see Alfie, he's my best friend but thats all, right? 

we are going to the airport together, I offered him the lift because unfortunately, he can't drive yet. Alfie was so happy that i asked, because only for me, the coolest best friend anyone could have, he wouldn't of had any way to the airport. i hopped out of bed, surprised at the fact i wasn't tired at all, i undressed and hopped into the shower. i didn't take that long as my excitement got the better of me.

i slipped a towel around me and then rapped my hair in one too, i could never find one big enough to cover all off my hair so it always ended up hanging out the back and dripping onto the floor leaving a trail behind me. i decided to ring Alfie hoping he was up. no answer! i rang again... same thing, answer machine. i kept ringing him until finally, he answered.

Alfie: zoe...

i loved his voice when he was really sleepy, it was so cute!

zoe: get up sleepy head! I've already got my shower and you arnt even out of bed! 

Alfie: its half six in the morning zo...

zoe: i know, so you need to get up! 

Alfie: 5 minutes, pleeaaseee!

zoe: nope! ill be out side your house in an hour, see you then alf!

Alfie: wait! don't hang u-

I cut him off before he could try to convince me, he always ended up winning me over so i didn't want to take any chances. i decided not to do my make up, in stead I'm going to do it on the plane as its a 8 hour flight over there! it will give me something to do as well. i went over to my closet and got out my comfy black leggings and hoody, dried my hair and tied it in a messy bun, i new Alfie liked when i dressed like this, but i didn't do it for any flirtatious reason, i promise!

I popped on my nike Roches and skipped downstairs to grab some breakfast. i wasn't that hungry but i ate anyway. i then went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth. i also brought Alfie a smootie, because i new he wouldn't be as productive as i was and is probably going at the pace of a snail so, just incase he forgot to eat, i brought it for him.

i jumped into my car and put on some music and drove down to Alfie's, i hope he's up! it only took a half an hour to get to Alfie's place, we lived quite close to each other which was good.

Alfie:

zoe got me up so early, but i guess it was for the best, because if she didn't i wouldn't have been up and we probably would have missed our flight! i can't wait to see her, in a 'best friend' kind of way, nothing more. i think... 

i was going quite slow, and I'm pretty sure zoe was thinking that i was herself! my outfit was just a pair of jogging bottoms, nike free runs and a plain white tee and the key necklace zoe bought me for my birthday. and also a beenie, my hair was a complete mess! i hope zoe is wearing something similar to me, i love it when she wears stuff like this. don't take that the wrong way! we're just friends! 

i brushed my teeth and a soon as i walked out of the bathroom i saw zoe in her car waving at me. i waved back and ran out of the house, locked the door and ran to the car. i put my suitcase in the boot and hopped into the passenger seat. "morning alfie!" she's said happily "morning zoe" i gave her a big hug and then we were away.

the whole way down the road we talked, it made the trip feel shorter than it was. we even got a bit crazy and put the cars roof down and screamed "florida here we come!" with our arms up in the air. people on the motor way were staring at us like mad, but we just burst out laughing. me and zoe always have the best times together. for the last 15 minutes of the journey we were singing every song that came on the radio, even if we didn't know the words we just made it up. 

we finally arrived at our terminal and jumped out of the car and got our suit cases "you ready little one?" that was my nick name for zoe, friendly nick name! "yeah! lets do this!" she said "lead the way zo" i said smiling at her. "oh wait! i forgot, i made you a smoothie incase you forgot to eat this morning!" she shouted over to me "ah, thanks zoe! you know me so well, i intact did not eat this morning"   "no worries alfie, i just know you inside out" she gave me a cheeky smile, but it wasn't flirty, it was just the way we carry on.

zoe:

me and Alfie were walking up to the doors of our terminal just chatting as usual. when we were inside we met louise, tanya, jim, joe, Caspar and louis. "chummy!" louise was calling me, i was so happy to see her! "hey chummy!" we hugged and chatted for a while, it was good catching up with louise, i hadn't seen her in ages! alfie was talking with everyone else. we walked over and alfie was talking about what we all would do before the flight "we could check our bags in, get a quick starbucks and maybe some food?"  "sounds great" i said smiling at him, he's really organised when it comes to things like this. i thought everyone was on board with the plan but turns out tan and jim wants to shop in duty free, joe and caspar wanted to meet a friend and louise and louis had already planned something out for themselves. so it ended up me and alfie where alone together, but i was happy about it because its good to catch up sometime, but we hardly need to because we are together 24/7! i think alfie was happy too.

we checked in our bags and then made our way to starbucks. i found a seat for us and i sat down. "what may i get for the lovely miss sugg?" i laughed to myself "a decaf caramel frappe with extra cream please mr deyes" alfie always turned normal everyday things into something funny to make me laugh, and i always did! "and what size would you like it?" still speaking in that silly posh accent! "surprise" i gave him a cheeky smile and we both laughed really loud that people started looking at us. i just giggled when i turned around and faced the table.

about five minutes later alfie came back with both of our drinks. "one grande decaf caramel frappe with extra cream coming up!" we couldn't hold our laughter in any longer and people just started staring, but we really didn't care. he made me so happy, like a best friend would.

we just sat talking about things we would do in florida, waiting for our flight number to be called. when it was called we made our way to the departure gate. "are you excited alf?" i had such a big smile on my face "really excited!" we had a big hug swaying side to side and then we made our way over.

Alfie:

me and zoe were sitting together on the plane, which was good because i know zoe cam get anxious on planes so if she does, ill be there for her. i decided to get my camera out and vlog just before the plane was about to take off. "gooood morning guys! we are doing something very exciting today arnt we zo?" "yeah!" "why don't you tell them whats happening" "we are on the plane going to florida to playlist live guys!" "we're so excited! the planes just about to take off so i will see you soooon!" 

the plane was going really fast up the runway just before it started to fly and i new just by looking at zoe that she was panicking. "its alright little one, I'm here for you okay?" i grabbed her handed and squeezed it "thanks alfie, i know i can count on you when i need you" she looked up at me and smiled and put her head on my shoulder. next thing i know we where in the air. "see, i told you everything would be fine!" "yea you were right" we were just looking at each other, not saying anything, and then i realised, maybe we aren't just friends.
