We were in trouble. Mrs. Adebiyi's eyes narrowed as she gazed at us. "You students are trespassing in the library after hours. This is unacceptable."

Mr. Sam smiled, his eyes glinting with malice. "Yes, and it seems they're meddling in affairs they don't understand."

Mrs. Odiigue stepped forward, her voice firm. "Now, now, Mr. Sam. Let's not jump to conclusions. I'm sure these students didn't mean any harm."

But Mrs. Adebiyi's expression remained stern. "I'm afraid I must take disciplinary action. You students will receive detention for a week."

As she spoke, the lights in the library began to flicker ominously. We exchanged nervous glances. Something felt off.

Mr. Sam's smile grew wider. "And I'll make sure to keep a close eye on them during detention. Who knows what secrets they might uncover?"

We shivered at his words, feeling like we were in grave danger. Little did we know, our detention would lead us down a dark path, one that would uncover secrets that were meant to remain hidden.

We reluctantly followed Mrs. Adebiyi to the detention room, our hearts heavy with anxiety. Mr. Sam trailed behind us, his eyes fixed on us with an unnerving intensity.

As we entered the dimly lit room, we saw a figure huddled in the corner, shrouded in shadows. Mrs. Adebiyi gestured to a row of chairs. "Sit down, students. You will remain here for the next hour, contemplating your actions."

We obeyed, our eyes fixed on the mysterious figure. As our eyes adjusted to the darkness, we realized it was a student, about our age, with sunken eyes and a pale complexion.

"Who are you?" Israel whispered, her voice barely audible.

The student slowly raised its head, revealing a gaunt face with a haunting gaze. "I'm...Elijah," it whispered, its voice barely audible. "I've been trapped here...for so long."

We exchanged nervous glances, unsure what to make of Elijah's ominous words. Mr. Sam's smile grew wider, as if he was enjoying our discomfort.

Suddenly, the lights flickered and died, plunging us into darkness. We heard footsteps echoing outside, growing fainter with each passing moment.

We were alone, trapped in the detention room with Elijah, who seemed to be hiding secrets of his own. And then, we heard it - a faint whisper in our ears, "You shouldn't be here."
