Ahsoka rolled over on the dirt ground and grabbed her side as she panted for breath. She removed her hand and saw it was blood covered and she gasped. Her throat was dry and she didn't know where she was. Trying to stand up, a sharp pain hit her in the knee and she grabbed it, smearing blood on it. She scrunched her eyes shut and she wanted to scream. Her whole body hurt and was in blistering pain and she was breathing heavily.
"Commander!" someone yelled. But Ahsoka was too weak to look to see who was calling her, she only bent her head down and tried not to think about the pain she was feeling. "Ahsoka!" then she realized who it was.
"Rex," she whispered. He ran to her and knelt down beside her. "Where—where am I?" she panted, grabbing her side. The pain pierced through her sharply and she grunted, hanging her head.
"We're in the middle of a battle," Rex answered, and he quickly whipped out his pistol and shot a battle droid that was approaching them. "You were almost shot."
"Almost?" she asked, then showed him her blood covered hand.
He gasped, but he tried not to show it. "I have to get you out of here."
"I can't walk," she grumbled, shaking her head. "Something's wrong with my knee."
Rex looked at her knee that was crusted with dry blood. "It's dislocated."
She grunted and rolled her eyes. "Great."
"Come on, I'll carry you to the shuttle."
"Where is it?" she asked.
"It's not that far," he said, trailing off when he realized that their shuttle was across the battlefield in the thickest part of the battle droids. But he wasn't going to tell Ahsoka that.
He put his hand under her neck, but she leaned back and said, "Just leave me here. Go fight. I can't do it anymore."
"Ahsoka, no!" Rex said quickly. "I'm not leaving you." He paused, thinking. "I'll—I'll call the shuttle, have the pilot come and pick us up. I'm not leaving you here, Ahsoka. You need to get to the med bay." Ahsoka sighed, but Rex was already clicking away at his comlink.
"Yes Captain?" the pilot asked.
"I'm sending you my location," Rex ordered. "Can you come pick me and the commander up? She's badly injured."
"Sure thing, Captain," the pilot said. "Be there in three minutes tops."
"Thanks." Rex quickly ended the connection.
"Rex. . . ." Ahsoka whispered.
"You'll be okay."
"No, Rex," Ahsoka panted quietly. "Behind you."
"What?"
But Ahsoka quickly lifted her hand, using the Force, shot the battle droid flying backwards, smashing into a few other droids.
Rex looked down and grinned at Ahsoka and she smiled back weakly. "Thanks Commander."
