Ken sits in front of you at the dining table. He has been staring at you intently for the last 5 minutes and you feel like you are about to explode from the amount of pressure from the look he is giving you. He leans back and drapes his arm on the back rest of the chair.

"So, how are you liking the new addition to our family?" He points at Mina floating beside him.

"It's...great, I guess. The more the merrier." You tried to sound cool but deep inside you, screams are erupting not that you're angry but you just met a literal robot. "Mina, right? I-, she, would be a great companion around the house." You look at Mina and wave at her with a timid smile.

"Hmm, you sound like you're not sure about everything. Mina has been with me for a very long time and this is my house and I have rules." He leans forward and stares at you more intently. "One, you are not allowed to go down the basement. Two, you are to accept when I need you to accompany me to some dates and events and three, you are free to take pictures of me." He winks.

You pretend to gag. "I'm all good. I don't need your pictures and why am I not allowed to go down the basement? My old things are there and sometimes I need them. Wait, what do you mean accompany you to dates and events? Don't you have a chick for that?"

He snorts. " All you have to do is pretend to be my date until everything's over. That's it."

You gawk at him. "Bro, I am not going with you. I don't like you. And besides, I'm not good at events and that kind of stuff, I don't even have the right clothes for those things. So, I'll pass. Thank you."

"I don't like you either but those are the rules if you still want to keep this house."

Your ears perk up at what he said. "Wait, are you saying that there's a chance you'll give it back to me? That's good because I didn't even touch the money you sent to my account, that's dirty money."

"Chances are slim though, but we'll see, I just have some things to sort out and this is the best location for me to lay low."

      "Paparazzi problems?"

"Nah. I just like this house."

You huff and poke the piece of cake on your plate. "Can't believe that of all the people who could have bought my house, it's you." That's a lie because you are starting to like having him around, for security, that is, because you noticed that someone had been looking at you at a distance which gives out a stalking vibe.

He grins at you. "Come on, don't you like that Ken Sato is your house mate? Everyone would have begged on their knees by now."

"Not all people and that includes me. I just don't want someone invading my personal space." You hesitate to ask him if he noticed anyone lurking around the house because it has been bothering you a lot but you swallow and asked away. "By the way, uh, have you seen anyone peeking through the bushes outside?

"No, I didn't see anyone. Mina could have reported it to me by now."

You shake your head. "It must have been my imagination." You were overthinking about the paparazzi situation because of Ken but somehow, you didn't see anyone approach the house.

"I installed some CCTV; I could check it later." Ken's watch let out an alarm, the light from the small screen emanating bright red.

       "Ken, there is a k---"

"Yes, I'll get on to it." He cuts off Mina. "I have to go and remember the rules."

It's eight in the evening and he's out again. He didn't even finish that cake you bought from Sam's Cafe and it's his best seller. Everything is silent again. You grab your phone and scroll through Facebook, news feeds about a Kaiju attack in the main city floods your screen.
