Rain.

That's all Bluejay could see out the window. It had been raining all day, even before she woke up. She didn't mind, though. It gave her an excuse to play video games. She opened up her computer and started playing emulated rom hacks.

Until she heard a knock at the front door.

Bluejay jumped. She wasn't expecting anyone.....who could possibly want to be at her home...? In this kind of weather?

Bluejay was scared. But she knew she could just look out the window and find out who it was. Then again, they might also see her.

No, it's time to stop being such a scaredy cat!

Gathering up her courage, Bluejay slowly moved the curtain slightly. She didn't see anybody out front. Was it just her imagination?

Confused, Bluejay cracked open the door. She could barely see a corner of something. Curious, she opened the door all the way. What greeted her was a cardboard box with a note.

Huh?

Bluejay struggled to pick the box up, but she managed to drag it inside before any water seeped into the contents. She picked up the note from the top, examining it before opening.

Hey Blue, Happy birthday. Sorry that the sleepover had to be moved, but you better be there this time!!! I also got you something. Dont question how I did. Just enjoy it.

Happy birthday and stuff from Nils.

By the time she finished reading, Bluejay smiled softly. Nils really was a sweetheart, despite how much he tried not to. She put the note in a drawer with all her other notes and started opening the box, only to recoil in shock when she saw what was inside.

A whole Nintendo Switch kit with several games like Mario, Splatoon, Pokemon, a few visual novels like DDLC, etc. He got her a very own game system to call her own.

Unable to contain her happiness, Bluejay let out a "SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!" She really had to thank her friend for all the trouble he must've gone through for her. Especially with how the weather was today.

Bluejay excitedly started setting everything up on her new switch. She spent time choosing which game she wanted to play first and soon decided on Epic Mickey Rebrushed edition. Bluejay felt so happy as the switch turned on, and she started playing.

In fact, Bluejay was so excited playing that she didn't notice that the storm was raging outside violently. At least not until the worn door flew off its hinges and crashed right into her TV.

Bluejay screamed at the sudden event, immediately jumping up and checking her console for any damage. The good news was that the console remained in perfect condition.

The bad news was that the TV was wrecked. Now she had to find a new one.
