IN WHICH, Mun misses Jeong terribly on his birthday aka Ung-Min, and Ju-Yeon deals with his longing and simping. !

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

MUN, UNG-MIN, and JU-YEON stood outside Eonni's Noodles, a popular local noodle shop, the tantalizing aroma wafting out each time the door opened. Despite the long line ahead of them, they chatted eagerly, anticipating the meal.

"Where's Ae-Jeong, by the way?" Ung-Min asked, glancing at Mun.

Mun's expression turned wistful. "She's still in Japan for the school exchange program. I miss her so much."

His two best friends chuckled at his longing tone. "Didn't she say she sent you a present, along with souvenirs for your grandparents?" Ju-Yeon teased.

Before Mun could respond, the door of the noodle shop opened, and a girl stepped out, flipping the sign to "Closed."

"We're done for the day. Please come back later," the girl announced briskly, slipping on her jacket as another woman followed suit. The crowd, including Mun and his friends, erupted in complaints.

"What? But we've been waiting for an hour!" Ung-Min protested, trying to catch the girl's attention. She hurried to a nearby car, seemingly ignoring him, while the other woman stayed back to address the disappointed patrons.

"We have an emergency," the woman explained, her tone apologetic yet firm. "I'm really sorry."

Ju-Yeon stepped forward, attempting to reason with her. "Can you let us in as the last table? It's his birthday, and—" she gestured to Mun, trying to appeal to the woman's sympathy.

The woman shook her head, though she seemed genuinely regretful. "I promise, I'll make it up to you. Twice as many noodles next time."

"Noodles on birthdays mean longevity," Ju-Yeon added, hoping to sway her decision. But the woman could only offer a soft apology before joining the girl in the car.

The car drove off, leaving the three friends standing on the sidewalk, watching it disappear into the distance.

"Well, that didn't go as planned," Ung-Min sighed.
