Chapter 2: School day

As Ellis put his bike in the usual spot it was in, she also went indoors. The tv was already playing football. "Oi! Get me a cold beer will ya?" Henry said from the living room. Ellis walked over to the kitchen to grab a beer for her father and put it on the table. "Be a good brat and just don't bother me yeah?" He said annoyed, Henry was mostly annoyed with Ellis. Even if she was in his presence. "Yes yes... I'm already going upstairs and not coming back." Ellis said as she went upstairs, she went to her room but closed the door quietly though. In case her dad gets angry with her. "Why does he need to be this way..." She sighed as she opened her drawer full of some candy. She always had some in case Henry forgot dinner..like now. Ellis mumbled some gibberish while she smacked on her candy. She opened her laptop and started playing Detroit Become Human. Gosh Connor was so hot... her eyes were glued 5o her screen. Funny what she thought since she kind of related to Alice. She felt what situation Alice was in, although they weren't completely in the same one it was very similar to each other.

After some hours of playing she heard her dad grunting and coughing loudly. Was he..? Ah yes there it was, the smell of drugs. Just why couldn't Ellis her mom took her with her? Oh right! She didn't care about her own infant! Ellis was still pissed with her mother but didn't really have a choice. Ofcourse she had many times when she thought about running away but where would she go? She had nowhere to go! Plus she wasn't the richest either....It was now almost half past ten, she decided to put her laptop away and got in bed. She still heard a lot of noise but hey, at least it was not the noise of a bed almost breaking! Ellis snorted out loud a bit at that thought. Gosh she absolutely hated it when Henry came late home and he would bring a random woman home. She would wake up in the middle of the night by clapping sounds, the worst is she sometimes even heard the moaning and sounds that came from the throat. Eventually she fell asleep shortly after. It now was 1 am. But Ellis was woken up by the sounds from outside the window, what was that? "Huh...?" She rubbed her eyes and stood up from her bed still being a bit groggy and sleepy. "Dad..?" Ellis silently asked as she opened her curtains a bit. As she opened her curtains she saw...a woman? Oh! That was the woman leaving from their house probably...seemed like Henry had a good time I guess.. "God I hate dad..." She said silently as she got back in her bed, Ellis quickly fell asleep after. Soon it was the next day, her alarm already went at 7 am. "Uughhhh I hate school..." She turned her alarm off and checked her notifications on her phone. As usual nothing special, just some notifications from Pinterest and Tiktok. She got out of bed and changed into her baggy old clothing, nothing new... She went downstairs but making sure to be quiet to not wake up Henry. God he must have a really bad hangover today.... Ellis thought. She reached for the cabinet to grab some cornflakes but she wasn't hungry. "Hm..." She silently thought and put the cornflakes back. Later she grabbed her toothbrush, brushed her teeth, brushed her hair, packed her bag and off Ellis goes!

As she finally reached school she already got looks.. "Ew... Look at her! She looks awful! Hey girl can I get Ur snap?!" Some girl and boys yelled after her. But she was used to it so she didn't bother to even looks at them. Biology class was starting, after some time of doing classes it was Finally time for break! Ellis quickly claimed her seat at a table where she usually sits. No one to disturb her because they wouldn't come up to her....perfect. She grabbed her granola bar and began eating it. "Heeeeyyyy girllll!" A girl came to sit next to her at the table. "How ya doinnnnn we are besties right?!" Oh my god....why did this always happen? "No. I don't know you so please leave me alone." Ellis replied with a dry response, she looked the girl dead in the eyes telling her to shut up. "Oh? Why notttt girl! I don't wanna act weird like you are sooooo cool! I have seen you before walking in school and oh mah gawdddd! I wanna take a selfie with you c'mere!" The girl grabbed her phone, before Ellis could even react she grabbed her shoulder to take a picture. "H-hey! Get off me!!" Ellis raised her voice and pushed the girl away. "Ow!!" The girl yelped. "I just want to take a picture with you!" The girl said, she was annoyed now that's for sure. "I don't want to take a picture with you!" Ellis yelled at her. The girl took a step forward clearly furious at Ellis. "Oh you are so weird, you are an outcast! You have no friends, you are getting bullied. When are you leaving this school? You know that you want to leave you little bitch. Why not give In? Maybe go to Hogwarts, that's where all of the freaks are! With your stupid wand, what was it called again that spell? Oh yeah, you could avada kedavra yourself! Little dirty prick that you are." Ellis looked speechless. The whole canteen was looking at her! She was holding back tears, she felt devastated. "I-" She stammered. But couldn't get any words out. "Fight fight fight!!! Ooooohhhh Ellis if I was you I wouldn't accept that one if I was you!" Some kids yelled. That wasn't helping....she had to do something quick. But before she could do anything the girl left. She walked off , her hips swaying side to side. The attention also drifted away from Ellis.

As she followed her last lessons the school day was finally over. Thank god it was 3 pm. All she got was dirty looks and people whispering. Some kids yelled as usual emo at her but some new ones were "Coward" and "little bitch". It hurt that's for sure. But she felt numb. She couldn't feel her emotions at the moment. She quickly got out of the classroom the second they got dismissed. Ellis speed walked to her locker to grab her coat. She got to the place where her bicycle was waiting for her, but she was stopped. A group of kids stood in front of it. One of those kids was the girl that wanted to take a selfie with her. Oh my god, she got mad and now she ganged up with her friends. Ellis wanted to step back but the kids already saw her. "Hey you! Ellis right!?" One of them yelled. Half of the group she didn't knew but that kid she did. His name was Dave, Dave was the person everybody knew in school. Always so superior, handsome, bad grades, flirty, always fighting and ofcourse every girl has a crush on him. Ellis tried to step back but the gang already marched towards her. She stood there, helpless. She was facing Dave now with the kids behind her. "You little arrogant slut!!" Before Ellis could react she got punched, right on her eye. She stumbled but didn't fall yet not expecting any violence. Well, she did expect violence but only verbal! "O-oh....oh" Ellis didn't scream or yell. She immediately covered her now swollen blue eye. "Cry then! Cry!!" A girl said to her in a mocking tone. One was filming, it was Bianca. She was from Ellis her class. Also an annoying girl. Then Dave pushed her really hard, Ellis tried to dodge it but failed. He dashed towards her and launched an attack in her stomach. "AGH!" Ellis screamed and fell on the ground tears falling down. "Hahah good job Dave! Yeah ur the best... omg you are so amazing for this! Yeah she deserved it." The group cheered and cheered. They filmed and laughed at Ellis. "Hope that will teach you little bitch." And for the cherry on top, The girl grabbed her backpack and threw it to a distance. Then they all walked off snickering, laughing, chuckling, snorting what you could think of! Ellis looked helpless to the ground. She held her eye that was a throbbing pain and the other hand on her stomach. Everything hurts. She tried to stand up but couldn't. It hurt so much. Why was she like this? Her head was running thoughts and thoughts, all of them being negative. After some good seven minuten sitting on the ground she finally got up. She felt a bit better since her eyes stopped flowing tears but still it hurt a lot. But she had to get home. She slowly first walked to her backpack and picked it up. She then got to her bicycle and started cycling, she wasn't fast but it was okay.
