Have a wonderful day!

Start of part:

"And don't you even think of coming back!" My trainer yells at me right before driving off.

I watch him drive off into the distance sitting there before turning around to go into the forest. To think he'd go this far for not winning the 8th gym badge. I guess it was only a matter of time before he got rid of me. At the very least I figured I would get traded off to another trainer again. But I've been terribly weak from the get go.

I'd be lying if I said I had no feelings towards my trainer. It fed me and sheltered me and all the other provided basic needs so the least I could do was get him the 8 badges needed to compete in the league. I've never lived in the forest before. I'm a city Pokemon. I'll probably be dead in a week max. But not like I'm of much use now anymore.

I hear a battle going on somewhere deep in the forest but I ignore it and continue my walk. I get thirsty and decide to go find a river to get some water. I can't really hear a running river or smell it. So I must not be near one. I'll keep going until I can find one. A few minutes go by then I hear something. A river! I go in the direction of the sound and not before long I finally get there. The sound of the battle I heard earlier is a lot louder than before but still no one in site. I walk up to the water and start lapping up the water till I've satisfied my thirst. Well I guess I'll be on my wa-

Just then I'm pushed by someone or something. "Hey what was that for?!" I say annoyed.

"Move idiot! I just saved you from that Pigeot!" The Pokémon yells at me angrily. I then look up and sure enough there is a strong looking Pigeot hovering in the clear blue sky.

"Move! Get behind that rock over there and don't come out no matter what!" He's quite fierce and demanding with his words. So I do as he says and I hide behind the large rock but I peek over to watch the battle.

As it goes on I can see just how skilled the Umbreon was in combat. Not only was he strong but he seemed strategic as well. But right after I think of that the Pigeot uses a powerful gust attack sending the Umbreon into the tree landing hard. OUCH! But I do as he says and I say hiding. But something's off. Umbreon hasn't moved after hitting the tree. I look back at the Pigeot and he is about to do a diving peck attack.

If that move hits he's finished! I can't let him die after he saved me from the Pigeot. I get out from behind the rock. Right before the Pigeot lands the blow I yell, "Hey bird brain! Over here!"

The Pigeot comes to a fast halt about a foot before the Umbreon and turns around. Just then I see the Umbreon perk his head up. He pounces on the Pigeot trapping it under his paws. The bird struggles as the Umbreon charges a devastating Shadow Ball point blank range before releasing it finishing off the opponent. Just then the Umbreon snaps his head in my direction.

"Hey! I thought I told you to stay behind the rock! I had everything under control I was just playing dead to lure him in close!" He seemed furious.

"I-I'm sorry I... I thought you were knocked out..." I apologize feeling bad for getting in the way.

The Umbreon smirks. "Heh. It'll take a lot more than that puny attack to knock me out! But I hate it when people get in the way of my battles. Don't do it again."

"I won't!" I quickly reply. "Well... thanks for your help but I'll be on my way now."

"Wait!"

I freeze in my tracks as the Umbreon circles me. "Hey you must be an electric type! We could use you!"

"... it took you that long to realize that?" I can't help but laugh a little.

"Hey! Don't blame me! It's not often I get to see an electric type around here!"

"Do you even know what kind of Pokémon I am?!" I ask hoping he does.

"Not a clue. I don't know next to anything outside of this forest."

"We evolve from the same Pokémon for crying out loud!" I laugh historically at his stupidity.

"I was the only Eevee around since I was born!" The Umbreon starts getting red from embarrassment. "Besides knowledge won't save you when it comes to fighting out here in the forest."

I stop laughing remembering the situation I'm in. He's right. I have no idea how to survive out here on my own. But he said something about being able to use me earlier.

"What was that you said about being able to use me?" I ask curiously hoping I can get out of the situation I'm in.

"Oh, that. Well I'm not on my own out here you know. I got a small village of mostly Lotad, Lombre, Ludicolo, and a few others. We dont have an electric type Pokémon with us yet so we could use you. Follow me if you want to come with." Umbreon says turning around to lead the way.

"Anything beats living on my own out here. I'm in." I get a closer look at Umbreon studying his body. He has scars covering some of his body and just a little bit of his top left ear is missing. That and what usually are yellow rings are blue. He's a shiny! I wonder if he even knows that haha. Or what Pokémon he even is.

"Oh by the way. I never got your name. What is it?" Umbreon stops for a moment turning around to ask that question.

"It's Volt. Volt the Jolteon." I tell him calmly.

"Mines Lunar. Now let's go we have a bit of a walk to go on." He says turning around to walk again. "And from what I can tell your a city Pokémon aren't you? You are clean and have next to no scars on your body. What happened with your trainer?"

"Oh... he released me for not being strong enough to win the 8th gym badge." I say sadly trying to forget about that guy.

"Well figures. Every human I've seen walk past this forest is either a terrible person or catches wild Pokémon who don't want to be caught. By the way what's a gym badge?" He asks curiously.

"A gym badge is a special badge which you collect 8 of. If you manage to collect all 8 you have the honor of competing in something called the Pokémon league. The Pokémon league is where you go to fight some of the strongest Pokémon in the world."

"The strongest you say? Now that sounds fun!" Lunar says getting excited at the thought of battling strong Pokémon outside of this forest.

Lunar must love battling. I perk up after hearing something a little ways ahead.

"The village! We're here! Wait... oh no I forgot the Pigeot! You can see the village just ahead. Go there and introduce yourself to the elder and tell him you know me. I'll be right back!"

"Wait! They don't know I'm with you! They could think I'm an intruder!" I say hoping he'd just introduce me.

"You're fine! Just tell them my name and they will lead you to the elder! They are very welcoming Pokemon you'll be fine!" He then darts off back in the direction of the river.

Well. I hope he's right.

Writers note: that's the end of part 1! I hope you enjoyed the read! I hope to get 2 parts out a week at minimum. But I will update the story frequently. Enjoy the ride!
