°Prologue°
"Oh come on (Y/n) sensei! Can't you ever clean by yourself!"
"I can but I'm just busy."
The sounds of a pencil scraping against paper had been the peaceful sounds you've been listening to for the past couple of hours.
Well until your assistant Aoi Hayashi came in breaking the peaceful atmosphere. Screeching at you to clean your apartment.
What a mom.
"I mean really there's paper plates with old food on them everywhere!"
"Eh they're fine."
As mangaka's go you're pretty successful in what you do. But like a lot of weekly mangaka's you pretty much hole yourself up in your room all the time trying to meet the deadline for the next chapter and never end up cleaning by yourself.
"Sensei maybe you should take a little walk outside and breathe in some fresh air. Being inside this long in here definitely can't be good." She said holding up multiple hot chocolate cans.
"Can't. I still need to finish this chapter. Usually I try to stay at least a chapter ahead of the story so I have some wiggle room but right now I haven't even finished drawing the storyboard for the next chapter. I've been falling behind recently since I've started losing inspiration. Not to mention the new color pages and covers to I have to finish for the new volumes soon." You said exhausted, continuing to draw.
Your new football manga series that you recently released has gotten wildly popular although it means good in sales it also means you have a lot more work to do.
"Do you want me to get you some tickets to a football game near by? You could get some inspiration while also going outside and getting some sun. Maybe one of those high school games." She encouraged while picking up trash.
"No thanks. Although the games are ok and sometimes fun to watch I still prefer to watch professional games. Plus Japanese football just isn't all that fun to watch anyway."
"You are such a downer about Japanese football." She mumbled.
"I'll stop being a downer when they have a chance of winning the world cup. They always end up never making it and that just gets too frustrating after awhile."
Aoi just sighed in disappointment at your response.
'Seems like (Y/n) sensei's really having a hard time today.'
"We'll just keep brain storming ideas. In the mean time I'm gonna go throw away all this trash."
"Kay."
"Kay? Not a 'oh no Aoi I would love to help you clean up and take out this trash?!'"
"No thanks. I still have to finish this and I don't feel like moving."
Aoi just started grumbling and walked out the door.
*Ring*
*Ring*
'Hmm? Someone's calling me?'
"Ego? What is he doing calling me? He barely even picks up the phone." She murmured.
"Hello?"
"Hello (Y/n), it's Ego I need to talk to you."
"Ego you're not one for calling what's up?" You said a bit nervous. Ego very rarely calls you by himself so this must be something big.
"You sound awful."
"You don't have to be so mean about it but yes, I've been staying up late these past couple of nights working so I'm not in the best shape."
"Speaking of your work I wanted to give you an offer."
"Hmm?"
"I've been working on a football program for a while. This program is supposed to make the world's greatest striker. I have full confidence that this program will work. But I need help with funding the project."
"Although I'm interested in this program why me? I'm already sure you have a sponsor don't you? Like the JIF."
"Yes they are sponsoring us but they arn't exactly enthusiastic about this project. I wanted to get you to sponsor it in case those money grubbing old men try to pull something. Plus we can both benefit from this."
"How?"
"Well I remember you recently complaining to me about how you've had a lack of inspiration lately. So to fix that problem I'll let you stay at Blue Lock and observe the players. At Blue Lock there's going to be lots of players constantly evolving so it's bound to make things more interesting for you. This is a win win situation. You get inspiration for your manga and I get back up money for this program. So what do you say?"
You were really interested in this now. But you had to consider the variables first.
"Will I still be able to write my manga and ship chapters off?" You fidgeted.
"Of course. And you'll be able to bring anything you want and wander around as you please. As long as you don't disrupt the players too much.
These conditions seemed really acceptable. Plus this was an amazing opportunity. Not only to get new inspiration for your manga but also to watch Japanese football evolve.
"Okay, I accept."

Manga notes
-----------------------------------·You met Ego at a football game when you were younger. Ego started insulting the players about how they were playing and you asked him to tell you more about what he thought. After that you kept on running into each other and talking. Eventually having a sister brother relationship. (Which causes you to sometimes call Ego and complain to him.)
·Ego thinks really highly of your manga (although he would never tell you) and makes sure to check out every chapter the day they're released.
·Aoi really admires your work but hates how you get so invested in it that you make your house a pigsty almost every week.

Manga Drafts
-----------------------------------I was planning on using the opportunity Aoi said for (Y/n) to go to a football game to get her to go to Isagi's game but I ended up not doing it because 1. I got lazy and 2. It didn't really seem to fit her personality since she was doing her work and since she's passionate about it I couldn't see her willingly abandoning her work so easily (Since I based her off of Abiko from Oshi no ko) and 3. In the timeline (Y/n) was supposed to go to blue lock a week early before the program started and Isagi's game looked like it was at least a day or two before blue lock started so it didn't fit the timeline.

Author's note
====================Hello everyone I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Sorry if this one wasn't too exciting I was trying to do a good opening but I was also trying to put some of the information in. Plus this was also supposed to be more of a prologue than an actual chapter.
Also in this book I'm going to have little Manga notes for littles secrets in the story. And if I'm also doing Manga drafts to tell you what could have happened in the chapter but didn't end up making it in the cut. But that's only gonna be if I do something different from what I was planning before so they might not appear all the time.
In the next chapter we will officially be starting the blue lock plot! 🎉
And don't worry we'll get to more juicier stuff next chapter! I'm really excited to write in the love interests!
Sorry about this author's note being so long but thank you for reading this chapter and please have a good day or night! 👋
